Freedom! No sorry. You’re thinking of a different Scotland.
The Chairman of the Edinburgh and Lothian Regional Equality Council, Foysol Choudhury MBE, is delighted that a 25-year-old Edinburgh man has been given a 10-month jail sentence for offending Muslims, and declared: “All religions are to be respected.”
Stilwel admitted breach of the peace. Speaking after sentencing, Choudhury said:
“I really welcome the sheriffs decision to impose a jail sentence in this case. We live in what is always called a multi-cultural society and I think we need to work together and prove that is true.”
“We need to respect everyones religion or culture, whatever it may be. Hopefully a sentence like this will act as a lesson to show people that all religions need to be respected.”
Sending someone to jail doesn’t teach respect. It intimidates. Which is what he really means.
The court heard that Islam prohibits its followers from consuming pork products made and that Stilwels actions offended people at the mosque.
Following the attack, Stilwel admitted to police officers that he was aware his behaviour could cause offence.
Sentence on Stilwel, an inmate at the citys Saughton jail, had been deferred by Sheriff Liddle to obtain reports about the offenders character. He told Stilwel that a prison sentence was inevitable.

10 months for that?
seriously?
How much do Muslim men get in jail for raping their 8 year old “wife”?
But, but, but, bacon is good with anything!!
I wonder if I can make a deposit to his commissary fund...
Mmmmm, bacon.
I love the sound of Islamics’ heads exploding in the morning. Seems a perfect analogy to the emergence of the sun from behind a dark cloud.
But now, the dark cloud once again threatens to blot blue skies everywhere.
Unfortunately, “Scottish law” has been largely displaced by Shari’ah law. The tyranny of the minority has overtaken all traditions once held by the fierce and truculent warriors of the Highlands.
By any other name, this is colonization, and it is by folks who have no culture of providing a path to elevation of wealth or learning. Nobody benefits by a retreat to the 7th Century.
Hitler toaught the world that the government can never attack directly but with the help of ‘victims’ and special people it protects.
For all the loss US life in the WOT, I don’t understand why bacon hasn’t been weaponized.
Ridiculous sentence. He could have been given a suspended sentence or even an earlier caution instead of a formal charge.
If you lived here, under this current soft touch SNP govt, you’d be amazed we pursue and catch anyone doing anything illegal.
Stilwel should have said that his religion dictated placement of bacon on mosque doors as a condition of salvation.
As stupid as this story is, to say Islam has conquered Scotland is drivel.
0.9% of Scotland is Muslim. And Scottish Islam has been free of the extremism we have seen fester in England.
I am not picky, I will take bacon, ham, pork chops, sausage, ribs (baby back and St Louis,) tenderloin.... but no one leaves them at my door.
This is most unfair.
Now there is a text book case of asymmetric warfare, using whatever weapons can be found and adapted to attack your enemy.
Hmmm. I read somewhere recently that the U.S. is the biggest producer/user of bacon in the world.
If Muslims’ souls are at risk if they become unclean by contact with pork, then the U.S. population has weapons of mass destruction in their hands for guerrilla warfare?
On this issue, the majority of people on this site watch too much TV and read too much Debbie Schlussel.
I try and read her, but my eyes and brain start to bleed. She makes Ann Coulter or Bill O’Reilly look like Shakespeare.
Riiiiggghhhttt....
I agree with the sentence. Bacon should NEVER be wasted!!!!
(What’s better than bacon? Duh, more bacon!!!)
