If ENOUGH PRESSURE is APPLIED to the SENATE...Republicans AND DEMOCRATS, it's POSSIBLE that it could pass!!

NOTHING will pass if not tried....

If they had listened to Cruz at all then they shouldn’t be surprised because he’s virtually the only politician I know who has never wavered from what he believes and has always said what he believes. He has never tailored what he says to fit someone elses expectations.

” NOTHING will pass if not tried....”

Agreed. The point is that everybody now has an excuse. “I voted to defund Obamacare”.

The real work will begin when they are in conference. That’s when they can be sleazy and get away with it. The pressure must continue to mount and cannot stop...even on House members...until the Conference Report is published and voted out.

You nailed it brother!

NO one ever thought there were votes in the Senate to defund. Fact is if the House don’t pass a CR that funds Obamacare, it doesn’t matter what the Senate does.

This is a vicious lie by York. He knows better.

“Harry can strip the defunding language, but if the reconciled bill fails a vote in the House, it’s back to square one.”

Exactly. Dirty Harry can vote the House resolution down, or strip it down, but unless both chambers agree on the same language, it’s dead in the water and nothing is funded. Then it’s a Mexican standoff where we will see who will blink first—Dirty Harry or Boehner.

Boehner: how’s the old spine doing these days? Are you willing to hold out and win or will you fold like you always do?

Mike Lee and Ted Cruz deserve our undying gratitude for forcing this issue. Though obviously they only have 14 on board with them in the House of Lords, without their defund efforts Boehner would never have been pressured to have a clean defund vote.

“I don’t know how you could say, right now, that there are not the votes for it [in the Senate]. I don’t understand that,” Rep. Phil Roe, R-Tenn.”

Roe is not a bad guy, but he’s obviously not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Anyone who reads headlines knows that only 14 Senators have signed onto Mike Lee’s defund bill. It’s not too hard to do the math from that point, so why feign surprise like Roe has done?

Cruz is talking about informing and leading rather than nose counting and following.

I understand those are frightening foreign concepts to RINOs.

Agreed with everyone’s concern over the GOP lacking spine on this issue. However, these upcoming votes WILL force RINOs to show their true colors and provide much needed ammunition for true conservatives in the upcoming primaries.

There is plenty of time for more viable conservative candidates to announce their intentions to run!

” However, these upcoming votes WILL force RINOs to show their true colors”

House Rule XX:

10. The yeas and nays shall be considered as ordered when the Speaker puts the question on passage of a bill or joint resolution, or on adoption of a conference report, making general appropriations, or increasing Federal income tax rates (within the meaning of clause 5 of rule XXI), or on final adoption of a concurrent resolution on the budget or conference report thereon

Note it says “yeas and nays”, not recorded vote.

How do you hold an individual accountable for a voice vote?

Good question. Maybe Cruz should introduce a resolution to suspend that rule and require a recorded vote for this issue.

That rule stinks, BTW!

That was a House rule...in other words, controlled by Boehner.

Why do you think he had a change of heart about allowing the vote?
