Disturbing! Marines Had Weapons, But No Ammo During Navy Yard Shooting (Video)

So, Homeland Security gets a couple billion rounds of ammunition, but the military doesn’t get any. That’s disturbing.

On Monday, a crazed gunman killed 12 innocent people, and injured over a dozen more, in a Washington, D.C. Navy Shipyard. It didn’t matter that it occurred on a military installation, because in 1993 Bill Clinton decreed that all U.S. military bases be “gun free zones”; thus denying the victims their 2nd Amendment right to defend themselves. But, it didn’t help those who did manage to be carrying a gun at the military base on Monday, because, apparently, it’s an ammunition-free zone, as well.

A dad describes how his Marine son at the Navy Yard on Monday had a gun, but wasn’t allowed the ammunition to go with it. A combination the Marine said would have stopped the shooter sooner, and would have saved lives.

Via NewsBusters, Navy Yard Shooting: Marines ‘had weapons… but no ammunition’

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

“If everybody had arms then there wouldn’t be these problems…my son was at … Navy Yard yesterday (9/16/13) and they had weapons with them, but they didn’t have ammunition. And they said, ‘We were trained and if we had had the ammunition we could have cleared that building. Only three people had been shot at that time and they could have stopped the rest of it.’”

No 2nd Amendment for the U.S. military? Only Liberals can take violating our Constitutional rights to beyond the absurd.

Not uncommon in today’s kinder gentler frame of mind. So, should they have at least had filled super soakers? Pretty damn sad state of affairs.

If ‘rats had their way, instead of unloaded weapons, these marines would be told to just hold their fingers pointed like a gun, or perhaps provided with pop-tarts in the shape of a gun, to protect themselves.

Just like in Beirut.

The politicians are PC and too afraid to let their trained military have ammo out of fear they may actually shoot the enemy. (gotta think ‘way inside’ the box to get that one)

Up is down everywhere in this country now days. Why should anyone be surprised.

Obama is arming Syrian rebels and trying to disarm law abididing Americans.

People who wont work and didn't take advantage of a free education are living comfortably.

Success is punished.

Republicans vote like Democrats.

Biggest energy boom in American history but gas is $4 a gallon.

Muslums can march in Washington on 9-11 but not the Freedom Riders.

Congress exempts themselves from every law they pass for the little people.

Yet we just suck it up and take it.

Armed march on Washington is not that far off in my view.

If the Rats had their way the Marines would have turned and ran.

We can't have them standing their ground when a black man is attacking, can we?

The Marines had no ammo. The Capitol Police were told to stand down. But the shooter was able to get all the firepower he wanted.

Tin foil hat, or.. All the makings of a False flag?

This sounds more and more like a domestic Benghazi!

Hell, if the Rats had their way, there would be no military.

in 1993 Bill Clinton decreed that all U.S. military bases be “gun free zones”;

In a related thread, someone posted that it was actually George HW Bush who made that decree, not Bill Clinton.

See post #14 in linked thread.

“Not uncommon in today’s kinder gentler frame of mind.”

This is nothing new. Decades ago they began replacing military gate guards with private security. Next chance they roll the video of the gate scene watch for the 5’8, 250” guard walking away from the opening. Definitely not in a military uniform. Marines on base, even when I was in, stored their weapons and ammunition in the armory. The only ones carrying were the MP’s. Of course whether they were locked and loaded depended on the security needs of the installation and the base commander’s orders.

“So, Homeland Security gets a couple billion rounds of ammunition, but the military doesn’t get any. That’s disturbing.”

We were sailing on San Francisco Bay when we were “boarded” by the US Coast Guard for an Inspection. Two teenagers with M16’s boarded but I noticed that their weapons were minus any installed mags and I didn’t see any of them hanging on their belts. So I asked one of them where his ammo was and was told “it’s back on the 41 footer.” So I said what if I get pissed off and decide to throw you off of this boat? His response was that he hoped that I wouldn’t do that. He said that if they got into trouble they would have to call Government Island (that’s over in Alameda) for permission to retrieve their ammo and load their weapons! I kinda felt sorry for them because they were from somewhere that didn’t have any water doing their 6 months in the USCG.

Johnny Rocco would have let them have it, then ventilated the 41 footer. See?

Yep. They’re afraid the Marines will shoot the “enemy”.

I would guess if they used the guns as clubs, they would really get into trouble.

Sounds to me like the average gun owner as more ammo on hand in their home than every military installation in the US combined.

I don’t think this article is helpful. I called my son who said the father’s son is probably a trained infantryman, but he didn’t have a security roll. Very likely he was one of the Marines who are part of the silent drill team. My son as part of his training for Presidential Security Forces stood guard at the Washington Navy Yard and was always armed with a bullet in the chamber and a couple magazines. Marines stand guard at only the one gate reserved for the Chief of Naval Operations and those visiting his official residence. This has been their post for about 200 years. These Marines are within line of sight of the place where the shooting occurred, but if they had heard the shots they could not have abandoned the people they were required to protect. When my son stood guard at a post about the 8th and I base he was always similarly armed.

A “bullet” in the chamber? A bullet is a projectile that is worthless without the case, powder and primer.

Only the Black Panthers will be allowed to have ammo.
