In the year since the Benghazi terrorist attack took the lives of four Americans, House Republicans have continually pressed the Obama administration for answers regarding events preceding the attack, the administrations response, and what has been done to protect the lives of Americans going forward. Those efforts will continue with three House committee hearings this week. Heres more:
The House Foreign Affairs Committee holds a hearing Wednesday, September 18th at 10 am ET titled: Benghazi: Where is the State Department Accountability? The committee notes that four employees placed on administration leave following the attack have recently been re-assigned within the department. This hearing will examine why no one inside the State Department has yet been held accountable for the failures and deficiencies identified in the Benghazi Accountability Review Boards report. [TUNE IN HERE ] The House Oversight & Government Reform Committee holds a hearing Thursday, September 19th at 9:30 am ET with Benghazi Accountability Review Board co-chairs Ambassador Thomas R. Pickering and Admiral Michael G. Mullen, USN (Ret.), members of the Departments security panel that conducted a review, and family members of those killed in the attack. The hearing will focus on the review boards investigation and questions that still remain regarding the attack and the administrations response. [TUNE IN HERE] The House Armed Services Committee will hold a hearing Thursday, September 19th at 3:30 pm ET on lessons from Benghazi and the Defense Departments ability to respond to similar attacks today. Earlier this year, House Republicans released an interim report on Benghazi outlining the findings of five committees of jurisdiction investigating the attacks, and laying out next steps including additional hearings and an ongoing effort to obtain access to witnesses and information being withheld by the Obama administration. It is disgraceful that one year later, even though a number of the terrorists who participated in this attack have been identified, not a single one has been brought to justice, Speaker Boehner said last week, pledging that Republicans will press forward with our investigation until we have answers, full accountability, and justice.
Someone should hand Amb. Kennedy a shovel.
He’s flinging BS to beat the band.
Now Patrick Kennedy expands the responsibility to include ALL
Engle just stated he doesn’t care about accountability, he only cares about how to prevent another Benghazi in the future.
For pene's sake and all who may be cubicle bound, let's all try to relay the substance of what is being said.
Classic!
Kennedy is only there to protect the regime. Would love to see his offshore accounts.
The Daily Beast first reported last month that the Kerry State Department decided to allow those four officials to return to work in the State Department, although not in their previous jobs. Although former Undersecretary of State Thomas Pickering, the head of the ARB, said that responsibility should be placed at the assistant secretary level, top officials including Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs Beth Jones were never disciplined.
(snip)
Issas investigation also found that the ARB was rushed in its investigation, completing its work in only 10 weeks, undermining claims by Clinton and President Obama that the ARB conducted a full and complete investigation into the attacks. Also, the committee identified several conflicts of interest between the ARB and the people they were investigating. Jones admitted to the committee that she had close personal and professional relationships with both Pickering and the executive director of the ARB staff Uzra Zeya. Pickering also knew Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Liz Dibble, who had a role in Benghazi security decisions but was not punished after the ARB report. Dibble was subsequently named Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in London.
Kennedy: we are well on the road to increasing Marine guards.Especially at locations identified as higher threat locations.
Duh!!! It is common sense to determine security levels and to staff accordingly based on the threat level.
And funding was not an issue in FY 2012 when Benghazi happened.
Kennedy keeps talking about “ new” needs for security. What baloney!
Thanks Don-0! Headed out in a bit but will be reading every post when I get back. Fox carrying it right now. Not sure how long.
4 of your questions were just asked
Ms Ros- Lehtinen getting down to brass tacks on the actual events of 9/11...
“Did anyone even lift a finger?”
Fox has it? Great, post with you later
He is probably right about new needs for security since Obama is arming every terror network throughout the Middle East now.
First up:
Reviews facts, Asks Stand down order, coordination between high level executives.
Ms Ros-Lehtinen

The results thus far have been what?
Dog meet pony.
Ms. Ros-Lehtinen up.
Why hasn;t anyone been fired or resigned over the failures in security?
Says “Really, who believes you?”
Says the White House has failed to tell us what the President was doing the night of Benghazi?
Who gave the stand-down order?
Did anyone lift a finger to help the folks at Benghazi?
Says has not recieved detailed report requested from Clinton in JAnuary on the 64 recommendations from the ARB?
Asks Kennedy to answer the above.
Nope..was just a short clip. Oh well. I am sure it will be on YouTube later today. Someone will record it.
The State Department had $680,000 to spend on Facebook "Likes". Seems like they had plenty of money in the budget.
She is relentless.
