In the year since the Benghazi terrorist attack took the lives of four Americans, House Republicans have continually pressed the Obama administration for answers regarding events preceding the attack, the administrations response, and what has been done to protect the lives of Americans going forward. Those efforts will continue with three House committee hearings this week. Heres more:
The House Foreign Affairs Committee holds a hearing Wednesday, September 18th at 10 am ET titled: Benghazi: Where is the State Department Accountability? The committee notes that four employees placed on administration leave following the attack have recently been re-assigned within the department. This hearing will examine why no one inside the State Department has yet been held accountable for the failures and deficiencies identified in the Benghazi Accountability Review Boards report. [TUNE IN HERE ] The House Oversight & Government Reform Committee holds a hearing Thursday, September 19th at 9:30 am ET with Benghazi Accountability Review Board co-chairs Ambassador Thomas R. Pickering and Admiral Michael G. Mullen, USN (Ret.), members of the Departments security panel that conducted a review, and family members of those killed in the attack. The hearing will focus on the review boards investigation and questions that still remain regarding the attack and the administrations response. [TUNE IN HERE] The House Armed Services Committee will hold a hearing Thursday, September 19th at 3:30 pm ET on lessons from Benghazi and the Defense Departments ability to respond to similar attacks today. Earlier this year, House Republicans released an interim report on Benghazi outlining the findings of five committees of jurisdiction investigating the attacks, and laying out next steps including additional hearings and an ongoing effort to obtain access to witnesses and information being withheld by the Obama administration. It is disgraceful that one year later, even though a number of the terrorists who participated in this attack have been identified, not a single one has been brought to justice, Speaker Boehner said last week, pledging that Republicans will press forward with our investigation until we have answers, full accountability, and justice.
They adjourned to a private hearing - I think?
Did anyone catch the name of the lady presiding? Was it
Martha Roby?

“I can see the hearing but no captions. IF Gowdy and/or Chaffetz or any of our guys show up, pls ping me. If I can stay awake, Ill be back.”
Will do. Will also keep on lookout if C-Span puts this up later.
Those asking question seem far too relaxed, no sense of urgency, allow those answering to filibuster questions, not following up...hope they get better going forward.
Dinna forget. Benghazi was supposed to be a complete massacre. No one left to save.
It came up that since the “video” was touted on 5 media outlets by Susan Rice, the President of Libya was very upset and would not cooperate.
Please chime in if someone has a different understanding.
Yep...wondering if serving on this committee is how you get promoted to the “important” committees.
Posted a bit back that several freepers suggested that committees yield their time to members having the most knowledge or possessing skills in cross-examining. A great idea which will never happen.
Thanks for the ping! Had to take a break, so am not watching this hearing live. Will be reading every post on thread though as I have a chance. Does anyone have a link where this is streaming besides Cspan? I can’t get Cspan to play on iPad for some reason.
“the President of Libya was very upset and would not cooperate.”
True...and IIRC, so did another high-up official in Libya voice similar.
.., BUT I am still very disturbed that the question has never been asked about WHO talked to any Libya govt official that night and what was their response.
The event has concluded. They adjourned to a private hearing.
I was hoping to find the video of it - but haven’t found it yet.
My streaming video, says this event has ended, so I guess that’s it, is that all there is my friend, then keep on dancing...

We were getting it there. I thought they were going out for a vote, but I must have misunderstood bec WIH thinks they adjourned for a private meeting.
???
WIH: Was that scheduled? Did something specific come up in hearing to warrant a sudden, private meeting?
The president of Libya was on the SAME talk show as Susan Rice - CBS- and he heard what Susan Rice said. He knew Rice was lying and said so on air that same day moments before/ after Susan Rice.
How the rest of the message came out, I am not sure if I read it or it came out in a hearing.
Might be something in this article.

“Benghazi was supposed to be a complete massacre. No one left to save.”
May be...and not arguing...BUT we have no proof of that yet.
BTW: see previous posts re: hearing. Short! Adjourned to private meeting. Was that planned? I don’t know.
That is what is so frustrating about this deal....all the secrecy! Is it any wonder no one trusts them anymore? We need some major leakers to break this case open or else we will never get the whole truth.
This was sent to me personally by Col Handley as a Word attachment to a personal email. It is not a fictional web article of undetermined origin. It is credible and real. I know Hands, he sent it to me and I posted to FR.
Col Handley said, “Sure, go ahead” when I asked if he minded I posted his comment and shared with others and if I wished to get it to Issa’s committee.
I have his personal contact details if contacted by the committee and they wish verification.
It also has been posted on other forums, not by me:

etc. . .
I heard them say they were going to private hearing, but also I thought the hearing was only scheduled for one hour or so and I think that amount of time had lapsed.
It was certainly not like the oversight committee - very laid back.
Thank you. I am going to print that off and hand carry it to my Congressman’s local office and see if they will get it to him.
As well as a congressman from Ok who told Ms. smith that at his townhall there, Benghazi was very important.
