Last year the American Truckers Association prepared a report for Congresshighlighting the susceptibility of the nations just-in-time delivery system, the majority of which is made possible by the transport and delivery of freight. In the event of a catastrophic disaster such as a war that drives fuel prices through the roof or even a natural disaster such as a solar flare that renders electronic trucks inoperable, there would be a a swift and devastating impact on the food, healthcare, transportation, waste removal, retail, manufacturing, and financial sectors, according to the report.
The backbone of commerce in the United States are the truck drivers who spend long hours on the road ensuring our very survival as a modern society.
But with fuel prices continuing to rise, wages dropping, jobs becoming harder to find, and rampant corruption in Washington D.C. furthering the countrys economic death spiral, Americas truck drivers, like the majority of our fellow citizens, are fed up.
Between October 11th and 13th they have called for a general strike, asking truck drivers around the country to refuse to haul freight, a move that could carry with it a significant impact on the American economy.
The protest calls for truckers to make their way to Washington D.C. in a massive convoy in an effort to call attention to, among other things, the Benghazi cover-up, the recent attack which killed 25 members of Seal Team 6, ever rising fuel prices, and claims that President Obama has engaged in treasonous crimes.
Moreover, theyve requested that the American people join them in solidarity by not shopping or engaging in any economic activity that benefits the government or their corporate interests.
The American people are sick and tired of the corruption that is destroying America! We therefore declare a GENERAL STRIKE on the weekend of October 11-13, 2013! Truck drivers will not haul freight! Americans can strike in solidarity with truck drivers!
Breaker 1 9 calling on all Trucker to shut America down for three days October 11-13. The American people are bleeding out with no relief in sight, It is time to change the NEWS. Let us show our elected officials that we are 100% fed up with corruption and the blatant disregard of the Constitution that they swore to defend.
Bob tail it hammer down to the bull$hit city with flags flying high.
My fellow Patriot this effort is to support the truckers in a major shut down of America ion a 3 day strike October 11th thru 13th.
Obamacare will be in effect and most people will be ready to take action. No commerce on those days stock up on items that you will need. No banking no shopping no money transactions. It does not matter If a million or 50 roll through DC in this effort. Congress will listen to We The People. Which is remove Obama from office for crimes of treason and misdemeanors. We want Congressional hearing on Benghazi and Seal Team 6. Louis Learner put in jail. No amnesty, remove all Muslims in our government that do not uphold the Constitution. Remove Eric Holder from office for crimes against the people and the Constitution. Last but not least is Fuel prices.

The protest comes on the heels of a massive biker rally held in Washington D.C., and other grass roots efforts to hold the government to account for various Constitutional transgressions including everything from stripping Americans of their right to bear arms, to forced health care mandates soon to be implemented across the country (with exemptions for members of Congress and corporations with insider access, of course).
Calls of accountability have grown louder over the years from all political sides, starting most notably with the Tea Party movement and progressing to Occupy Wall Street.
The corruption and need for real change in Americas government has transcended political lines.
If the hundreds of thousands of truckers across America who keep our delivery systems running efficiently were to join together and stop hauling freight for even a week, the impact would be devastating and could not be ignored.
Thered be no food on the shelves, no fuel at our gas stations, and no medical supplies at our pharmacies and hospitals.
Congress and the President, who would like nothing more than to be perceived as our saviors and benefactors, would have no choice but to address the concerns of freight haulers, because the American people would feel the effects of the protest directly. And, chances are theyd be in the streets protesting themselves because of lack of access to essential goods they cant live without.
We may often feel as if we, as individuals, have no power against the mighty United States government, but as Karl Denninger points out, we have much more power than we think.
If we get just 10% of America on board the entire game changes.
Especially when the business world and government realize that the next one is Black Friday weekend.
Just 10% of Americans can change the course of history, much like they did during the Revolutionary War.
Whether it happens in October, during Black Friday sales this November, or at some point in the future, this seemingly untenable situation is coming to a head.
Robert Kennedy may have said it best:
A revolution is coming a revolution which will be peaceful if we are wise enough; compassionate if we care enough; successful if we are fortunate enough But a revolution which is coming whether we will it or not. We can affect its character; we cannot alter its inevitability.

The snowball in America continues to roll down the hill, gaining speed and mass.
That's the card they should play. Demand drilling on our soil.
Remember when $350/gallon gas was a sign of the apocalypse?
It says 11-13 That is Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. If they are including Friday and Monday as strike days, it will disrupt the country if enough do it. No fuel will go to gas stations, no food delivered, no fuel to power companies, etc.
Going to D.C. would be a really dumb, and expensive move. They could accomplish the same thing by simply parking wherever they are at the appointed time. That was done by teamsters in the 1970s, I remember them doing it but don’t remember the outcome. I know the teamsters back East not only parked they would not let any trucker move his truck and used violence to make it work. A friend of mine had a fairly new rig then with a big payment and he got stuck somewhere back East, couldn’t move his rig because of union thugs. Things are more just in time now so it would likely be more effective if a shutdown was done now than it was then.
You are absolutely right. Wife of a trucker, here. While he will sympathize with the message, he is not likely to steal his company’s tractor, go to DC and rightfully lose his job over it. Godspeed to any owner / operators who may be participating though.

That reminds me of that video.... whatitcalled Wheels of Steel or something

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,The Truckers are right on all charges. Wish I had a big righ so I could join them,./
My advice , stock up before they come.
I agree the Fuel costs and “Drill baby drill” should be on the top of their concerns.
The issue seems to run much deeper.
We are living in a world pushed to “maximum efficiency”. Truckers feel the impact of “Just in Time” delivery. Bankers feel the pressure to maximize any and all profit. It is a system that works great when there are no surprises.
But a system that is on eggshells.
I think that is their point.
On a side note; Just today I was talking to a UPS driver about the “rules” and “protocols” they are required to follow. He told me that last Christmas season they told all their drivers that they wanted them to put on their seat belt “before” they started the engine, they had calculated that this step alone would save the company well over a million dollars per year in fuel costs.
Maximum efficiency.
I think you’ve squeezed four days into three.
“I think youve squeezed four days into three.”[
Thanks, I did. Should be Friday, Saturday, and end on Sunday. That would not be quite so bad.
Michael Savage proposed something similar some time back. If all the truckers stopped on the roads and bridges across the country, throwing out signs to express their outrage at illegal immigration / confiscatory taxes / socialism, it would be too big and widespread for the media to ignore and the public to NOT see.
How many owner operators could really afford to do this?
No need to blame the illegals for dropping pay, the pay picture for us has been on the decline for the better part of ten years. Illegals, for the most part don’t get past the 10 years of background check. (Nor do many legal Americans).I work for one
Like computer use drove competition for ever lower airfares, online bidding for available freight is driving freight rates lower and lower driving-out the independent guys and placing more and more power to control the rates in the handful of the largest and leanest mega carriers.
Interesting—makes sense, but I never really thought of that.
I’d guess it may rival the “Million Muslim March” in undershooting its goal.
Not expecting anything big from this Convoy...
Compare to the recent 9/11 motorcycle ride. A bike might need a couple of gallons of fuel to get from wherever to DC... cost to typical biker less than $30, plus tolls.
For an 18-wheeler, my search is turning up 6 MPG at best. Diesel is, what, $4/gallon? THat’s gonna add up to mucho dollero! For each 500 miles to travel, that’s $335 per truck
And, to top that off, a BIG CUT of the purchased fuel to make this convoy is.... GOVERNMENT taxes!
And not just the cost of travel, but the revenue lost for the days getting there and back from where they started.
...and rampant corruption in Washington D.C. furthering the countrys economic death spiral, Americas truck drivers, like the majority of our fellow citizens, are fed up.
I'm sure 0bama's Dept. of Transportation will have something to say about that. Then again, Eric "The Red" Holder will sic the FBI on them. Or maybe 0bama will sic Big Sis on them?
IRS with the help of the NSA...trucker beware...
We are quickly approaching the point of no return.

We are quickly approaching the point of no return.
Absolutely correct.
I honestly don’t know. Not very many probably. Most are very small operations. You have to stay out there for weeks at a time if you want to make really good money. My husband is 54 and has been a trucker since he got out of the army in 1992. He said he did his time and is only out from Monday til Friday night or Saturday morning now. We met 3 years ago and just got married 6 months ago so I don’t want him gone for weeks. He still makes decent money but.. That said, I don’t see how many drivers or owner/ operators can afford to do this but I wish them Godspeed and support them.
