My understanding is that he acquired the weapon from someone he had killed with a sawed off shotgun and that someone was a LEO of some sorts which means it was probably an M16, not an AR15. I could be wrong but if I’m not, we need to nip this in the bud. There’s a big difference between AR15 and M16 and we shouldn’t allow the media to further disparage the AR15 if an AR15 wasn’t actually used.

It was probably an M-4 AR-type Carbine he hooked off the dead guard....yep, much different with auto...

The articles that even mention it all cal it an AR-15. I thought the Military all carried M-16s. Big difference.

M16A2 or M4 modified like almost every model the Fed owns... for three round burst. It has been reported on fox via another FReeper that this “AR15” was so modified. That means it was not an AR15.

Was it actually a sawed off shotgun (illegally modified) or just a pistol grip shotgun?
