Writers detail shocking civil war resulting from 'Tea Party militia' taking over South Carolina town - and the U.S. military's response
They prophesize that unrest will result from the the economy's failure to improve from 'Great Recession'
Commenters quick to fire back at the writers, as one brands Col Benson a 'traitor in waiting'
A duo of writers have ignited an uproar with their foretelling of an insurrection that will plunge America into a new civil war, courtesy of a 'Tea Party militia.'
Written in disturbing detail by a retired colonel and the academic, the article describes events leading up to a full-blown civil war on American soil, like the one that is currently gripping Syria.
The article also describes the plan of the American military to quash the rebellion orchestrated by its own citizens.
The Small Wars Journal article, entitled 'Full Spectrum Operations in the Homeland: A "Vision" of the Future,' was written by retired U.S. Army Col Kevin Benson and Jennifer Weber.
So when does such a civil war begin? According to Benson and Weber, the seeds of their vision have already been planted.
They write that the Great Recession will have lasted longer than anyone could know, sparking massive unemployment and political unrest.
Benson and Weber write that despite a change in control of the White House and Congress in 2012, the economys downward smile will continue, with the percentage of jobless Americans near double digits.
But the authors say it wont be until 2016 when things start to take a bad turn.
The write: 'In May 2016 an extremist militia motivated by the goals of the "tea party" movement takes over the government of Darlington, South Carolina, occupying City Hall, disbanding the city council, and placing the mayor under house arrest.'(continued)

“Just turn off the electrical grid ...”
`Revolution’ with the country breaking into California, Texas, Georgia and the Monroe Republic militias? That’s an interesting TV show.
I didn’t get the e-mail.
“I firmly believe that those in power on the left want this to happen.”
I disagree. Only Conservatives have arms. Libs are afraid of arms. i believe that they fear an armed revolt. That is why they push their ideologies slowly.
Reminds me of Obama drawing a red line on chemical warfare and Syria immediately before Obama began training rebels in southern Turkey how to fire chemical munitions from artillery pieces.
Look out S Carolina, a false flag is being planned in your vicinity.
“Is there something in SC that we dont know about ?”
Yes, unless one considers that SC is where the first civil war started.
Liberals are nuts... elite liberal even more...
Yep. Duncan Waring found them in #78. Old news, but the question is, why does a popular Brit rag publish it now?
I for one couldn't imaging a bunch of right-wing gun nuts taking over my local government. Other than the ones who already have, that is. And precisely what the federal government would care to try to do about that is very unclear, but "butt out" would be good advice.
I do see a burgeoning market in anti-drone or counter-drone technology. Everything else, pretty much covered. They park an Abrams in the middle of town and the kids will be playing on it in 48 hours.
A lot of people hereabouts recall Ruby Ridge very well and I don't think that sort of thing is likely to recur, at least without some pushback. Same for Waco. Once you get past the "I can't believe they'd ever do such a thing" block, it isn't difficult to start calculating what you can do when they do.
Liberals are nuts... elite liberal even more so...
No revolution starts until the middle class is radicalized. It wasn't the students who started the Iranian Revolution and brought Ayatollah to power, it was the shopkeepers who decided to join them. Just as you suggest -- jokingly, I'm sure -- no revolution would start here as long as we had our "twinkies". But the day the supermarkets close, because of a credit crisis, or whatever it may be, the day our normal comforts are denied us, that's when you'll see our social structure come unglued. We are so complacent, we no longer have any tolerance for that. The parasitic classes, those who depend most on entitlements would riot and take what they wanted by force, like they do in urban riots, only nation-wide. Then you would see a revolution, more like a merciless counter-revolution, as what had been the middle class became radicalized and struck back, real hard. Only, it wouldn't stop there.
I agree with you about the “two more chances”. Although, at my age I’m liable to go “all out” rather than “all in”. :(
Travis, a lot of cops are prepared to ditch their badges if the word for gun confiscation comes down from the FED. If I couldn’t do it against my own gun-owning family, I damn sure won’t do it against someone elses.
Besides, events are going to play out where people are going to absolutely need to be armed and it will not have to do with resisting a tyrannical government...
Turn off railroads, pipelines, etc. and watch chaos erupt in high density populations. Just-in-time delivery means very limited stocks of consumables. A military would be dealing with conflicting goals of maintaining order-suppressing urban revolts, distributing relief- suppressing black market, guarding- operating distribution structures, in addition to countering asymmetric opponents. Always easier to destroy than build.
I can wander around in the woods and feed myself. I’d love to see the supermarket shelves go empty for a week. Might wake some folks up.
