They have since backtracked on that, but the tape has never been released, even during McVeigh's trial.

McVeigh. It's always been curious to me that he remained adamantly silent before his execution. Why?

Was he a moslem convert jihadi or just, as was claimed, a disaffected Dessert Storm veteran?

How extensive was his family and how close was he to them? Did they receive any financial contributions, or could they have been threatened to keep McVeigh quiet?

I recall no mention of them aside a sister. This would be an interesting background story. Anyone know anything?

McVeigh was threatened that his family would be prosecuted if he did not plead guilty.

I doubt McVeigh was a muslim convert if for no other reason that moslems simply will not shut up about their faith.

Then again, there is the possibility that if McVeigh actually converted, he did not defend himself in court because he wanted to be killed so he could get at those 72 virgins.

I wonder if he's talked to Lee Harvey Oswald where they both now reside?
