Aerial photos of the flood damage caused by heavy rains along Colorados Front Range.
A 60-year-old Cedar Cove woman was believed to be the fifth person killed in this weeks historic flooding as authorities scrambled Saturday to reach the 230 people listed as unaccounted for in northern Colorado.
Meanwhile, evacuation orders spread throughout the day to communities downstream as rivers continued to flow above flood stage.

Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
The flood water is moving into Morgan County, on the eastern plains.
More rain is likely Saturday night and Sunday ... here’s the latest on the flooding situation.
Wow! Haven’t really been following this...is this just some freak of Nature, some 200-year flood?
Or is it Globull Warming? Has Algore shown up to speak in CO this week? ;)
OMG! It’s like The Johnstown Flood!
In 1976 the Big Thompson had another flood similar to this one. These canyons are extremely narrow, with nowhere for the water to spread out.
Highway 72 is washed away numerous places to the eact of me starting and closed at an undercut at a culvert where the dirt is washed away under the pavement just to the west of me. There is one road out that I tried today and made it, but it took 1 1/2 hours just to get to Golden. I am hearing estimates that it may take months to fix. If there is more rain tonight, the heavily damaged road I took today in a 4WD SUV will not be passable. Many places had 1/4 of the road washed away already.
Amazing photos. Reminiscent of when TS Irene came through here and caused damage like that. Roads and rivers sharing a valley don’t play nicely together.
Ah, my typing and editing are affected by my 10 month old collie biting my hands as I type.
The floods began Wednesday. Floodwaters have affected parts of a 4,500-square-mile area, almost the size of Connecticut.
More pictures, too.

Blown away! We had flooding to the west of us along the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers this spring...but luckily NOTHING moves THAT fast in Wisconsin. ;)
These 200 year floods seem to occur about every ten years.
Be safe
Is this event comparable to the Iowa floods of a couple of years ago?
Thank you, george76!

Not over yet : lots of new rain forecasted for the weekend.
Plus New Mexico is part of this ?
New Mexico floods: Hundreds evacuated, governor declares emergency.

Heavy rains, flooding wreak havoc across New Mexico
You are welcome.
Lesson for the day: DO NOT build at the bottom of a ravine!
Thanks so much for pinging, I’ve been following the Drudge Report and wondered about you when I saw how bad it is. Here is another link from there;
Drudge Report says 230 people are unaccounted for!
So much distruction and I hope you and your family are safe. We, down here in South Texas, are under water restriction from long time drought.
Take care!
