In Russia, politics and nationalist pride are the basis of Putin’s anti-American turn
Washington Post ^ | Sept 14, 2013 | By Kathy Lally and Will Englund,

MOSCOW — First, Vladimir Putin accused Hillary Rodham Clinton of inciting protests against him at the end of 2011.

The next fall, the Russian president threw the U.S. Agency for International Development out of his country. Then he decided civic groups that get U.S. financing must be foreign agents.

By the end of last year, Putin decided Americans had become unfit to adopt Russian children. This summer he decided to harbor Edward Snowden, the National Security Agency document leaker, despite strenuous U.S. objections.

And ever since the Syrian conflict began, Putin has thwarted President Obama’s attempts to get the United Nations to intervene.

Saturday, Russian and U.S. officials agreed on a plan to remove and destroy Syria’s chemical weapons, but Putin still shows no interest in dropping his support for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad despite U.S. assertions that he is destroying his country.

Surely this describes a powerful Russian leader who enjoys nothing more than finding any opportunity he can to land a nasty sucker punch to Obama.

All Obama cares about his getting people on welfare and pushing his homosexual agenda onto the country and then wonders why he;s looked at as a total loser on the world stage and has become a laughing stock.

I don’t think that the new Vietnam style war in Afghanistan that has allowed the Taliban and Al-Quaeda a relatively safe haven in Pakistan (drone strikes and Bin Laden killing exceptions).

The Pakistani intelligence agency created the Taliban and supports it to this day.

Obama wants to pull out troops and hold peace talks just like Nixon did in Vietnam.

But George W Bush started this thing and refused to deal with Pakistan just like Lyndon Johnson only pin pricked North Vietnam with bombs back in the 1960’s.

In war there is no substitute for victory and Bush chose to continue to play the limted no-win war game after 9/11.

It’s so nice that Putin likes the Chechen muslims so much that he’s given them billions of dollars of the Russian people’s money and let them build the biggest mosque in Europe on Russian soil and encourage polygamy, and force Russian citizens to wear headscarves. Isn’t it awesome that he sent the Chechen jihadists to slaughter Orthodox Christians in Georgia and sent them to Lebanon as “peacekeepers” to defend Hizballah from Israel? Doesn’t it prove what a great Christian he is?

Good post. It is important to maintain a knowledge of history with which to maintain perspective. Now, for twenty points, integrate the two trends into a coherent picture of Putin's strategy. There is no doubt he has one.

Good for Putin on both counts. More particularly, because gays and lesbians can adopt children here he wanted to save them from moral bankruptcy and the amoralism of the west.

My brother who was killed on Okinawa in WWII and I who also served in the Pacific were and are children of Russian immigrants. We were brought up to learn about both nations by our mother after our ‘white Russian’ father died before I was born. I am as proud of my Russian heritage as Obama is of his part African or anyone else with foreign heritage. Russia historically has contributed to the sciences and arts especially music. I believe there is a gene factor involved as much as in the Germans and centuries of free USA citizens. I believe Putin is very much aware of how west Europe financial interests, which extends to the USA, especially the Rothchilds have interfered in Russian society since the early 1900s. It would be good to have both my USA nation and the Russian nation get together on matters that would benefit both nations, especially the fight against Islamic proselyting against fundamental constitutions of the Nations. Until such happens I will stand by the nation of my birth which has given me so much in my lifetime.

I see todays russia as a lot like germany after wwI. A country who just lost a war (in russia’s case the cold war) believing that in spite of everything they (in their minds) are superior. and eager to prove it by getting revenge on their enemies.

When a kid steals or hurt his friend, he rationalizes by finding a reason to hate the guy he hurt. Liberals have been taught as useful idiots to foreigners and communists to hate their neighbors while smiling so that it is easier to rob them later on if opportunity arises. Since they are cowards, they have to hate America and themselves.

whenever we raise kids to be weak, it is what happens. they delve into Esau’s cursing his own inheritence... and they call it empoowerment... wow... more like despair.

i think Putin is using the german model of certified religions by the state. France also has such a system but not as stringent, although they did kick out the Scientologists, I believe.

Putin however is much more strategic. Him and Bin Laden made a secret peace deal, I believe, or at least Al Zwahiri is known to be a Soviet agent while Bin Laden who was funded by the Saudis and ISI was competing with the moderates the CIA was supporting. Ultimately I think Bin Laden got angry at the Saudis friending America and turned to the Taleban to eject that influence.

Last but not least, Al Zwahiri seemed not to listen to Bin Laden when the latter was telling him to stop bombing other muslims in Iraq. So I think the RUssians betrayed Bin Laden through Al Zwahiri.

Islam and communism have one thing in common, and it is that communism is about enslaving people as material tools through the flag, while Islam provides the legalistic loopholes in the consciousness to abandon religious respect and rationalizing anything, including turning communist.

I would not be surprized if that mosque in Chechnya is somehow controled by the FSB. THe Orthodox Church is not a fluke either, and it certainly is to steer the Russian man from being emasculated the way he is in America. THe FSB is known to have sent Russian homosexual agitators in America only to have them report to RUssians how they would have sex with black men, to the disgust of Russians, thus driving a wedge between them and America.

He does not think the Arab Spring made the Middle East a better place.

Let's take a look at what the "Arab Spring" accomplished:

1) Tunisia: replaced a secular strongman with Islamists

2) Libya: overthrew and killed a secular strongman, who, despite his terrorist background, was working with CIA cells in Libya to root out Al Quaeda. The secular strongman's government was replaced by Al Quaeda sympathizers who murdered a US embassador and several US Marines.

3) Egypt: a secular, pro-Western strongman was replaced with Islamists who went on to murder and persecute Egyptian Coptic Christians. Fortunately, the secular strongman's allies in the Egyptian military wouldn't stand for it.

4) Syria: a secular strongman, who though a brutal dictator, protects the rights of Syria's Christian minority, is about to be overthrow and replaced by the Al-Quaeda linked Al Nusra front, who have already made it a point to massacre Christian villages.

Obviously, only a madman would think that the "Arab Spring" is anything other than wonderful.

Yep that’s Christianity by genetics instead of by faith in Christ. Doesn’t work that way. Simple question was asked indirectly and he nevertheless failed. Of course a more direct question would have been preferable: Did Jesus Christ rise from the dead the third day? Is he Lord?
