They need to sue. That sort of thing happens (rarely) in VA. The cost to a city for false arrest over a gun carry issue is about $10K.

Freaking out the sheep is a myth. I speak from personal experience. Most people don’t notice (!?) and the bulk of those who do notice just assume you’re a cop.

Not so much; even in my small town America suburb, we have folks who aren’t comfortable with it. And yes, whike it ISN’T my job to make someone else comfortable, I’d rather be able to bring someone NEW into the fold, so to speak than have them just turn off the switch immediately.

No big deal, brother. We’re just approaching the same thing from a different perspective. I just prefer to have an element of surprise if necessary. However, there IS something to be said for the deterrent element of the bad guy seeing that you are armed - and going elsewhere, so I do see your point.
