Liberals just hate it when someone uses their own arguments against them.
Members of the Washington establishment were quick to denounce Vladimir Putins op ed article in Thursdays New York Times questioning the legitimacy and legality of a U.S. attack on Syria. The White House quickly dismissed his column as irrelevant and a sideshow to the real issues at stake. The chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee said that Putins column made him want to vomit. Several other members of Congress, including Sen. McCain and Rep. Boehner, have denounced the column. Pundits have also weighed in against Mr. Putins intervention into the American debate over Syria. Many tweeters and texters have criticized the Times for daring to publish a column by the Russian President that is critical of President Obama and U.S. policy abroad.
There is an unspoken sub-text at play here: what President Putin said in his column is pretty much what American liberals and leftists have been saying about the United States since the 1960s. From the standpoint of American liberals, there is nothing the least bit new or controversial in anything Mr. Putin wrote in his column. He is merely hoisting President Obama and his liberal friends by their own ideological petard.
Putin made three general points:

Its kind of what I’ve been saying. I take it more as a warning than an insult.
NSA spying on the people - exceptionalism
Federal agencies deliberately working to smother “dangerous” political thought - exceptionalism
An ever growing bureaucratic fungal mat smothering entrepreneurship and crushing all will to strive or achieve - exceptionalism
Cradle to grave indoctrination of the communist party line in schools and ever growing social agencies - exceptionalism
Elected officials getting fabulously wealthy by legislating financial advantages for themselves - exceptionalism
Companies and unions buying influence with elected officials who legislate financial advantages for all 3 - Exceptionalism
Pedophile congressmen getting away with sleeping with underage prostitutes - exceptionalism
30 million + illegal aliens overrunning the country unchecked for someone elses political and financial gain - exceptionalism
Billions in foreign aid to nations that hate us - exceptionalism
Billions spent on pipe dream green energy scams that produce no energy and drive up costs - exceptionalism
I could go on and on.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry. The tragic truth is, Putin is capitalizing on our nations ignorance with a message that likely resonates with our low information population. Here is the leader of an (arguably) enemy state, talking directly to the American people in language they will likely understand (as they have heard it from our own leaders) and accept.
Sigh... we're doomed. Where is our next Ronald Reagan?
We agree on this idea.
I posted this, this morning.

For sure, it’s why the letter Putin wrote stings Obama and his clique so much. They’re all saying the same thing. In effect, Putin’s calling Obama a hypocrite for not living up to Liberalism’s critique of the USA.
Wow! So well said. May I quote you?
Our incompetent boob of a community organizer, and his equally incompetent sycophants, have calculatedly turned our "shining city on a hill" into a third world hellhole.
LET'S STROLL DOWN MEMORY LANE---2008 Obama was a pop-up candidate---came out of nowhere---groomed by Chicago criminal politics. After he got elected---his handlers admitted they let the media know only what THEY wanted them to know. Obama was cued to say all the right things---hope and change---even said he wanted to be another Reagan (probably the biggest lie any presidential candidate ever uttered).
Obama slipped up only once---and it was a whopper---he told Joe the Plumber he wanted to redistribute the wealth-=---a classic Communist phrase. Unfortunatly his snively RINO oppenent McCain never bothered to explain what that might mean for the once-powerful US economic engine---now in ruins.

Now, I view Putin's NYT letter as a post-grad master's thesis. Clearly, Putin was eager to proclaim his Christianity and seized on "exceptionalism" as the word upon which to lay the foundation for his proclamation.
We, the people, know we will never hear Obama say:
"......when we ask for the Lord's blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal," as Putin wrote in the NYT.
......something every Christian believes---an article of faith for Christians.....and, not coincidentally, the bedrock of our constitutional republic.
I think it’s fascinating. I haven’t seen the “establishment” class so apoplectic over anything this much in years. Somehow Putin struck a nerve.
Personally, I just thought Putin’s piece was a mix of some good points and some nonsense. Didn’t really mean much to me. The more interesting thing has been the reaction to it. Maybe it’s because it prompted some people to open their eyes and indeed confront how grotesquely degraded America has allowed itself to become.
Putin and the Current Occupant of the White Hut are just not all that far apart ideologically, it is just that Vlad is a much better player at the game than The Won.
I woke up this morning thinking of how Obama is a little like JFK, the more adult Russian leadership is eating his incompetent lunch.
I'm no fan of JFK, but that being said, Obama isn't worthy to lick JFK's boots.
A fellow traveler is calling out a bunch of other fellow travelers. The irony.
Putin has called out the left and made a mockery of Obama.
Recall that Obama said we were no more exceptional than UK or Greece. That’s why is sounded so fake Tuesday night when he used the word exceptional in his speech.
Recall that Obama said that whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation. Recall it was the dimocrat party that voted God out of their platform.
Now Putin, former KGB, has to remind us we are all created equal in the eye of God.
Obama looked about as small a leader Tuesday night as I’ve ever seen since keeping up with politics since ‘76.
Feckless and useless come to mind.
Oh, and let’s recall that it was John F’ing Kerry who was really behind this clown from the start.
How far we have sunk.
I noticed the glaring parallels too. Unexceptionalism. Everyone equal(even in outcomes, implied. Putin almost dared Obama to denounce these tenets he has in the past proclaimed to hold. Obama got trumped him again. They should just call off the game out of mercy.
Screw this commie bastard, not exceptional??! FU COMRADE! Do you believe in MIRACLES! 1980? The moon walk. Defeating the axis!
I don’t need this shiite telling us America sucks. We get enough of that crap from the muzzie in the White House now.
So F the both of yous!
If he's in a hurry he could always hitch a ride on a tornado...
Give it a week.
OTOH, Putin hasn't played his "Queer Card" yet. IOW, he is going to accuse Barry about worrying more about queer issues than about international crises involving war and peace! Bet Vlad knows all about Reggie. (Was the dear boy on the Russki jaunt?
But no matter how this will be played out with the Trayvon voter in the 'hood, the Left-Wing intelligentsia, the LGBT community, single moms, and the just plain stupid in the Obama-majority American electorate, the fact is going to remain that under the foolish Obama, Hillary, and now Kerry, US foreign policy is not only disastrously misguided and weak, but will be played the way the Russians and Chinese want it played.
Hit a nerve did he?
