WATCH: College Students Chase David Petraeus and Shout at Him on First Day of Class

Recent video shows former CIA director David Petraeus being chased down a New York City street by student activists at the City University of New York.

Petraeus was reportedly on the way to teaching his first class at CUNY’s honors college, entitled “Are We on the Threshold of the North American Decade?” He took on the teaching gig as part of rehabilitating his image following an extramarital affair scandal that led to his resignation from the CIA.

The students can be heard yelling “War criminal!” at the retired military officer who played a key role in the “counterinsurgency” strategy of the Iraq War. “Every class, David!” the students shout, suggesting they plan to protest him on a weekly basis, before every lecture.

“Petraeus out of CUNY” and “Fascist” were some of the other chants.

At one point, Petraeus and two of the students dart off into the middle of a street with an oncoming bus honking. Despite the repeated expletives hurled his way, the former general never once responded to the crowd.

That’s too bad. There’s a lot of things I’d like to know about him, and abuse by loudmouthed leftwing idiots isn’t the way to get at it.

Why did we go to war against Libya? Did Congress authorize it? Why did Mr. Obama then go before the United Nations and declare "mission accomplished"? Then barely a year after his UN appearance, we had a terrorist attack on our embassy in Libya (one year anniversary today).

Although David Petraeus was a disappointment to conservatives in some ways he certainly deserves a modicum of respect. However, just about any university is going to riddled with hardcore leftist professors and students marinated in leftist, anti-American ideology who despise the U.S. military and will reflexively reject a famous military man such as General Petraeus. I can’t believe Petraeus was surprised by the assault from brain dead leftist idiots. His non-response was prudent.

Petraeus is no dummy. Remember that he (literally) “wrote the book” on unconventional warfare (”Commander’s Counterinsurgency Guidance”.) And *then* he was head of the CIA.

This is not someone who is “situationally unaware”. Which leads me to believe that this was not as random an occurrence as it might appear to be on the surface.

But if that is the case, then what it is, is not exactly clear.

He needs to hire some young bodyguards quickly. The jackals were closing in. Next step would be to throw something, make him hurt enough to stop moving. Then all David would recall from that day would be the canopy of angry faces coming in to complete their ‘assignment’, all on film of course. Might want to confine his presence to the speaker’s bureau, where a ten foot high stage separates the speaker from his audience in their moat.
