Should blind people be allowed to vote?
Rights based on disabilities? I'm thinking....
So let's consider intelligence as a disability. I think hereditary and learned stupidity can certainly be labelled a disability today. It certainly limits what an individual is capable of. Voting and guns?
I might be persuaded to consider limitations on gun rights based on intelligence IF a civics test and license were required in order to qualify for voting rights. If you can't: Name 3 branches of government, 4 SC Justices, Speaker of House, Senate Maj Leader, VP, SoS and answer some basic US history questions....all in english, you fail. You don't get to vote.
About half the country is blind and they all voted. Some of them, more than once.
Anyone who thinks about this for a minute or two can easily envision circumstances where a totally blind woman could effectively use a firearm to defend herself.
(Say, by jamming the muzzle of her pistol into the side of the person attacking her and pulling the trigger.)
So, why would being blind be a reason to strip Second Amendment rights from someone?
People who are not blind can still carry guns at night, when they cannot see well.
Should blind people be allowed to vote?
Sure. Just not sure what one thing has to do with the other...
I don’t think the blind having guns is nearly as dangerous as allowing LIBs/DIMs/RINOs to vote.
