The Muslim Brotherhood and its supporters have began forcing the roughly 15,000 Christian Copts of Dalga village in Egypt to pay a jizya tax as indicated in Koran 9:29, author and translator Raymond Ibrahim reported on Sunday.
Jizya is the money, or tribute, “that conquered non-Muslims historically had to pay to their Islamic overlords ‘with willing submission and while feeling themselves subdued’ to safeguard their existence,” Mr. Ibrahim explained.
According to Fr. Yunis Shawqi, who spoke yesterday to Dostor reporters in Dalga, all Copts in the village, “without exception,” are being forced to pay the tax.
“[The] value of the tribute and method of payment differ from one place to another in the village, so that, some are being expected to pay 200 Egyptian pounds per day, others 500 Egyptian pounds per day,” Mr. Shawqi said, according to the translator.

A group called The American Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) is planning a one million Muslims march to Washington D.C. on September 11th. The timing of the group's march is seen by many as tasteless (to say the least) considering it is scheduled for the anniversary of the worst domestic massacre in American history perpetrated in the name of Islam. AMPAC ups the tasteless quotient by issuing "demands" for the American government:
We at AMPAC (American Political Action Committee) are planning an historic event for 9.11.13 where one million Muslims will march to Washington D.C. and demand that our civil rights be protected by our government.
We are demanding that laws be enacted protecting our 1st amendment . We are asking President Obama to fulfill his promise from his first campaign for Presidency of a transparent government. Lastly we are asking for the release of the 9/11 commission report to the American people.
The group seems to rationalize the date chosen for their march by claiming that the media has been lying to the American people with regard to the role Islam played in the 9/11 attacks:
On 9.11.01 our country was forever changed by the horrific events in New York. The entire country was victimized by the acts done on that day. Muslim and Non Muslim alike were traumatized but we as Muslims continue 12 years later to be victimized by being made the villains. To this day every media outlet and anti Islamic organization has committed slanderous and libel statements against us as Muslims and our religion of Islam.
And this class of “rebels” that O wanted to help in Syria?? sheeeesh

No surprise, though I'd question the translated amount of the tax since even 200 (1 pound=approx. US$0.15) pounds is a multiple of the average Egyptian income of around 25,000 pounds, 30,000 in urban areas.
200 Egyptian pounds equals $29.
500 Egyptian pounds equals $73.
This is per day.
It is such a tolerant religion. Peaceful too.

Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s. That is one tax I would have no problem paying. It would be an act of faith on my part.

This is the modern day version of the Islamic tax on dhimmis. Imagine historically how that effected numerous Christian communities. The “protection” has always been a form of extortion along with the other ignominies heaped upon the dhimmis such a nice slap in the face when payment was made, no new churches, no bells, distinct clothing, a Muslim squatting and taking what you grew in your little plot of ground, testimony worth squat in Islamic courts, etc. etc.
How can this be possible, given that the Muslim Brotherhood is no longer in power in Egypt? Is this a municipal government where the Brotherhood remains in power? This makes no sense.
