(CNSNews.com) – Pushing ahead his proposal to avert military strikes against his ally in Damascus by having it surrender its chemical weapons stocks, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday the initiative would only be feasible if the U.S. pledges not to use force.
The plan will only work, he said in a statement released on the Kremlin website, “if the United States and other nations supporting it tell us that they’re giving up their plan to use force against Syria.”
“You can’t really ask Syria, or any other country, to disarm unilaterally while military action against it is being contemplated.”
Putin’s foreign ministry, meanwhile, said a French-drafted U.N. Security Council resolution on Syria’s chemical weapons was unacceptable because it blamed President Bashar Assad’s regime for a major chemical attack on August 21.

Barry postures and flexes for the crowd, Vlad moves in, feints then lands a solid jab.

So, Obama claims Russia and Syria would have never agreed to this kind of arrangement had he not waved the possibility of a military strike against Assad, but Russia says there will be no deal unless Obama waives the possibility of a military strike against Assad - Barry’s very own Catch 22......
I got to hand it to Obama, he scared Putin into submission without firing a shot. Peace in our time. The world at peace.

This is all a part of Putin’s plan. He’s going to take advantage of the doltish Obama to regain status as world power who can call the shots in the Middle East. I’ve no cheers for him, and contempt for the doltish Obama.
