A Florida ministry that feeds the poor said a state agriculture department official told them they would not be allowed to receive USDA food unless they removed portraits of Christ, the Ten Commandments, a banner that read Jesus is Lord and stopping giving Bibles to the needy.

We decided to eliminate the USDA food and were going to trust God to provide, she told me. If God can multiply fish and loaves for 10,000 people, he can certainly bring in food for our food pantry so we can continue to feed the hungry. Now that is faith!!!

Good for them!!!! Government programs aren’t charity!

The People’s Commissariat of the Ministry of Agriculture in the territory once known as “the United States of America” has made it known they are displeased with this “bourgeois” display of religious icons, and the offending institution will be suspended from receiving distribution of “free” cheese.
There was once a naïve belief that the national governments of the Soviet Union and the United States as it existed in the 20th Century would converge. The dewy-eyed optimism was so displaced.
Who knew the very positions would be totally exchanged? The Russian Federation is now much more of a capitalist state than that territory once known as “the United States of America”, which has become a neo-socialist regime on the verge of toppling into economic collapse.
What the hell happened here?

Why politely? I'd hope he's only being polite until the federal civil rights law suit is filed.
Besides the horrific financial penalties for his agency, aren't there personal liability penalties to any official who seeks to violate civil rights under color of authority? Including jail time and loss of any pensions, IIRC.
