Unbelievable. This guy is showing little regard for the law since he got out. He’s already had two speeding tickets, and now he threatens his father in law with a gun? I mean, come on. I agree with his wife that he must really feel invincible after all this. This not normal behavior from someone who literally just avoided life in prison.
*****************************************************
He saved people from a car crash ...
He did not get any speeding tickets that I know about (weren’t they warnings?)
He left town to clear his head when wifey filed for divorce .. sounds reasonable..
Maybe you have never been under REAL pressure as he has been ,, it is PERFECTLY normal to take some amount of time to come down... and his wife is pushing buttons...

Where do you get off stating that he threatened ANYONE with a gun? That has not been reported anywhere by any news agency.

First off, he was caught speeding twice. I correct myself as the first time he only got a warning. The second time, I believe he had to pay a fine.

As far as the gun, I saw that in the UK Daily Mail. That's where I get off saying it. I was going to post the article on Free Republic, and someone had already posted. Here is a quote from the UK Daily Mail.

George Zimmerman has been taken into police custody after allegedly threatening his estranged wife and her father with a gun while she collected belongings just days after she filed for divorce.

Shellie Zimmerman called police to the home belonging to her parents, David and Machelle Dean, in Lake Mary, Florida at 2.15pm on Monday.

In her 911 call, she can be heard sobbing and pleading with police for help, claiming that Zimmerman punched her father in the noise and threatened to shoot them both.

'I'm really really afraid,' she says. 'I don't know what he's capable of. I'm really, really scared...

'He's in his car and he continually has his hand on his gun. He keeps staying "Step closer". He's just threatening all of us with his firearm. He's going to shoot us.

'He punched my dad in the nose. My dad has a mark on the face. I saw his glasses on the floor.'

Officers said a gun was found at the scene but there were no significant injuries. In the call Shellie requests medical help as she says her father is shaking and could have a heart attack.

Last week, Shellie Zimmerman filed for divorce from her husband of nearly seven years, claiming that their marriage was 'irretrievably broken' following his murder trial in the death of Trayvon Martin.

Friends told MailOnline that she had been collecting belongings from the home - where she stayed with Zimmerman during his trial - when her estranged husband turned up.

Police spokesman Zach Hudson told ClickOrlandothat police are 'trying to determine what exactly happened' but that Zimmerman has not been arrested.

Zimmerman's attorney Mark O'Mara also arrived at the house on Monday afternoon, and the police said Shellie and her father were consulting with their attorney to decide whether to press charges.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Leanne Benjamin, a key defense witness at the trial and friend of George and Shellie for more than a decade, reacted to news of Zimmerman's arrest.

Speaking from her Lake Mary home, she said: 'I'm relieved. He was a powder keg waiting to blow... I feel relieved now that he... might get some quiet time and some psychological help.

'If he had run into a stranger and got into an altercation he might have hurt someone or ended up hurt or dead himself.'

Her husband, Vietnam vet and army medic John Donnelly, added: 'As far as we understand Shellie had gone back to the house - a property owned by her father - to collect some belongings.

'Her father was with her. It was one of the places they stayed for about six months during the trial.

'George showed up with his gun. It was a domestic altercation. Shellie was getting stuff, her father wants to clear the house out to sell it.'

He added: 'I would have taken that gun from him and thrown it into the nearest lake.'
