Right now, the number of House Republicans planning to back the Syria resolution is stuck at about two dozen, according to the unofficial count several aides are keeping. Were not counting for the conference, but some of us are keeping tallies, and its looking horrible, says a source within the leaderships circle. Id say 30 to 40 Republicans, at most, are privately supportive.
In the coming days, insiders say, the number could tick up or down. Any fluctuation, however, will be based almost entirely on how the top players influence their colleagues. Since the leadership isnt formally whipping, member-to-member consultation is critical and the following Republicans are jostling behind the scenes to shape the cloakroom debate.
Majority Leader Eric Cantor (Va.) Cantor is coordinating the effort to boost Republican support. Ever since he endorsed a military strike, in a statement last week, he has been working the phones and softly selling the merits of intervention. Last Wednesday, he participated in a conference call with House GOP freshmen in which he outlined his position and analyzed the Syrian crisis.

Amazing that there are this many for a military action. This campaign has no traction or compelling purpose.
This list of folks needs challenging in the next primary.
Syria is to keep focus off of Benghazi and the IRS (both of which land completely in Obama’s lap)
Formally whipping?
You mean, there is actually some procedure for giving congress what it so richly deserve?
How about caning?
And to keep focus off Obamacare while it is being implemented.
Obamas interest in invading non-enemy Syria has nothing to do with Syria, poison gas, or children.
Obamas interest in bombing non-enemy Syria has everything to do with creating a long-lasting, controversial, DISTRACTION for Congress in order to keep Congress from defunding Obamacare/Boehnerkare.
Obamas Red Herring for the 9-11 Benghazi Massacre Coverup was Susan Rices fake Video story.
Obamas Red Herring for distracting Congress until Obamacare/ Boehnerkare kicks in October 1 is Obamas Crossing HIS personal Red Line distraction speech.
Obama speaks only for Obama, not the US Federal Government or America.
REMEMBER BENGHAZI !

Jellyfish Spine Boehner as Speaker of the House is essential to Obamas continued unchallenged destruction of the US Constitution.
Nothing will change as long as cave-in artists Boehner and Cantor are in leadership roles in the US House of Representatives.
If Boehner is replaced as Speaker with a fighter such as Col. Allen West, then the Articles of Impeachment for B. Hussein Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, can be quickly issued.
The problem is not with Obama, as he is just doing what Communist Trrants are trained to do.
The problem is not with Boehner, as he loves to lose and wallow in the disgrace of being the worst Speaker of the House, EVER.
The problem lies with our sorry, spineless, RINOs in the House who refuse to replace Boehner with a proven fighter.
BTW, the members of the House can choose anybody to be their Speaker, even if that person is not a current Member of the House.
Tick-tock, long-time House RINOs, tick-tock - - - - .
If my Congressman votes for it, I’m going to give his next primary opponent the maximum I can. I’ve told him that.
So who are they voting to attack? Will it be the Assad government? Or will it be the ones who conducted the chemical strike?
Cantor and Boehner must go. They carry water for Obama and Al Qaeda.

It’s incomprehensible that a Jew would champion the monkey’s hand grenade throwing. Israel WILL be impacted by the blowback, as surely as night follows day.
THE GOPe: Redefining STUPID!
There has to be more than 40 quislings in the House GOP; I would guess 70.
If Al Rueters and the AP Re telling the truth, Syria will cave in to Russia’s demands that they give up their WMD.
What would be a hoot is after that, Congress authorizes Obama to use force.
Who does Obama the listen to? The Russians or his own Congress that he laid the blame on?
