Rick Scott is no longer a long shot for re-election
The Orlando Sentinel ^ | 9-8-13 | Aaron Deslatte, Tallahassee Bureau Chief

TALLAHASSEE — When Rick Scott won a bruising battle for Florida's governorship three years ago, he inherited an economy in disarray. He ostracized allies with his stubborn streak, emboldened foes through his slash-and-burn budgeting and was dubbed by pollsters "America's least popular governor."

It's still a political eternity until the Republican former health-care CEO stands before voters again. But the crosswinds have shifted in ways that make his re-election in 2014 much less of a long shot than Tallahassee prognosticators once expected.

With former Gov. Charlie Crist planning to jump into the governor's race this fall, national liberal groups and allies of President Obama — eager to build on Obama's two statewide victories — are expected to pour massive resources into the former GOP star's coffers.

But Democrats are stuck in a fundraising holding pattern while they wait, as other potential entrants such as former state Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink sit on the sidelines.

"It's a problem. Time's a-wasting," said Sink, who narrowly lost to Scott in 2010 and says she'll decide on a rematch "soon."

And RINO Rick Scott is supposed to be our friend because Charlie Crist is his enemy.

I don’t take that bait anymore.

Scott should be primaried and replaced by a conservative.

Otherwise I would vote third party if I lived in FL.

Scott is doing what a good governor is supposed to do
Not talk much and leave citizens alone
I knew Rubio was a POS when he worked with Crist to make Florida a primary seat belt enforcement state
Scott hasn’t caused any damage as far as I can see

Wow...where to begin:

Scott was the one who forced out the State Atty in Seminole handling the George Zimmerman case, and put in his crony Angela Corey. He tried to have an innocent man convicted based on racist bigots like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson

Scott ran a group called Conservatives for Patients Rights, raising money to fight ObamaCare. Scott ends up supporting ObamaCare by putting the state in the ObamaCare insurance pools..when he campaigned against ObamaCare

Scott is a RINO, and he needs to be primaried. If the GOP runs Scott he will lose to Crist....Real Conservatives will stay home. This Florida will not vote RINO

I think Rick Scott has certainly caused some damage to someone named George Zimmerman through the appointment of a prosecutor or should I say persecutor Angela Corey.

What a disgrace her case was against Zimmerman...an outrage..

Scott has caused damage to many others by going along with Obamacare as in caving in on creating “exchanges” in Florida. That’s what came out of his mouth in November of 2012.

Now Rick Scott is doing his Specter Dance and making conservative noises with the election in sight, but I’ve seen that act before here in PA.

Floridians can be stopped now for not having a seatbelt.

The Miami media has already started taking pot-shots at Rick Scott.

The onslaught will be nauseating.

The entire movement will be to defeat Scott and replace him with an extreme pro-union, pro-Obamacare, pro-BGI stooge for the Clown.

Rick has not been perfect, but who is?? No one. I plan to support his re-election.

I knew Rubio was a POS when he worked with Crist to make Florida a primary seat belt enforcement state...

The clowns in D.C. did this: they were threatening to withhold federal highway funds from the state unless the state made seat belt enforcement a priority.

The state, desiring to get the funds, agreed.

The problem isn't with Rubio or even Crist (in this limited case), but with the system that sends money to a central government that re-distributes that money according to its desires.

St Skittles has damaged Scott like Shamnesty has damaged Rubio. Both chose poorly.
