It is time for the Tea Party to divorce the Republican Party and start its own political party.
Nature abhors a vacuum, and the Tea Party swept into the political vacuum left by the Republican Party in 2009. There was no voice for conservatives. The GOP had surrendered to its big government wing. And because of that, the GOP had been shellacked in 2006 and 2008.
The GOP would not stand up for conservative principles and the Tea Party was born.
In 2010, the Tea Party swept the Republicans into power in the House of Representatives.
What does the Tea Party have to show for it?
For the last two and a half years, the Tea Party has watched House Speaker John Boehner raise his freshly laundered white flag of surrender time and time again.
While the Republicans come back home to tell the voters how conservative they are, the truth is quite different.
The Republican leadership has not held the line on spending. They have capitulated repeatedly on the debt ceiling. They have surrendered on taxes. They have wanted to get along on Amnesty even though it is political suicide. They have given us meaningless, symbolic votes to repeal Obamacare, while making no real effort to do so. With barely disguised contempt for the base, they have ignored the calls to defund Obamacare.
Now they are giving the conservative base the middle finger by rushing to war in Syria.....

The fools suggesting the GOP is still somehow a legitimate party which can be salvaged or somehow made right, are FOS or are just part this epic con-game.
Nice of you... Do you really think the Republican Party is your party and supporting your views? My views are not overnight thoughts but have been fermenting for years.
Maybe you should rethink your own viewpoint.
Do me a favor, if ya have something to say to me, do it here in pubic and stay out of my PM.
They’d have my vote. I haven’t voted for the GOP since 1996. I vote Libertarian whenever I can. But I”m more of a conservative than a libertarian, so Tea Party would work for me.
Best idea on the thread. The Founders abhorred political parties, and for the very reason you stated.
I'm sick of being forced to choose between two sides of the same despicable coin. Show me that you're a person who loves this country, and has the same mindset as the Framers, and you've got my vote.
The parties can go to hell.
We need a third party. I was hoping the TEA Party movement could infiltrate and take over the the Republican Party. But the GPO/RNC firewalled us and the Obama IRS cut off our legs.
We seriously need to start a third party, constitutional conservatives. The mantra that third parties are spoilers is no longer true when both major parties have become idiots. If we cant right the wrongs through the ballot box, I fear a messy revolution where the outcome could be a disaster for all.
When Paul Ryan seemed to be a thrifty budget wonk we in Wisconsin loved him. His position on the illegal amnesty/open borders immigration bill shows he is really a big government, big business toady who cant be trusted. Most of the GOP has failed conservatives, we need to form a third party.
Amen! Everything you said is true and needs repeating!
I don't believe that for a second, and I wish that Freepers (of all people) would stop cowering in fear of her.
If Hillary runs, and the GOP-e has their way again, we'll wind up with Jeb or Chris Christie as our nominee. If that's what transpires, then yes, she takes it.
But if the people can somehow get behind a worthy conservative early in the running, and resist all efforts of the Roves and Schmidts to force their Democrat-Lite candidate on us, we'll have a real chance to evict the Democrat Socialists from the White House.
note that the TEA party is already are fairly effective.

Thought I was being ‘anal’ but it appears that the largest number of TEA Party ‘mentioners’ misspell the Organization they are either vilifying or supporting.
Maybe it does mean ‘nothing’ but I liken it to the people who refer to Seals........
It is a good idea to be aware of what one is ‘talking’ about.
but I liken it to the people who refer to Seals....

(OOPS)
When they are trying to say SEALs......
It is a good idea to be aware of what one is talking about. Hmm
No, it’s not an attempt at soothing subversion.
The point is that the key political motivation for people to vote Republican now come from the Tea Party idea bag.
There are next to zero voters trying to vote for RINO status quo ideas.
McCain goes to Arizona and has to lie like a rug to get re-elected. The only reasons he gets away with that are a) he’s apparently a pathological liar, b) the old folks in East Mesa still think he’s a big war hero and c) the aforesaid old folks have really short memories.
But he’s the past.
The future are the Lee’s, Paul’s, Cruz’s, and Chaffetz’ of the world.
As the Left says , the TP is the tendency, the Vanguard of the Revolution.
Such groups - small and militant - are always in the minority, but provide the intellectual and political nucleus of real revolutions.
The old liners are spent. Running on empty, running out the clock for their clients on K street.
But even they know they’re gone.
That was basically a war-unity coalition ticket of pro-war northern Democrats and Republicans. It wasn’t a proper party in its own right.
All that is needed is for the Tea Party to further “infiltrate” the Republican party. Why start our own rolodex when we can take theirs and kick bums like McCain to the curb!
I don't have a dog in the fight I'll only vote for a Conservative and I'm not on a GOP, Talk Radio, or Fox payroll so I have no interest in pushing the party line.
It makes sense to me for Conservatives to concentrate on the State races if she runs and not push the ridiculous line that all the polls were wrong, our guy is ahead BS that went on with Romney.
You folks can jump on your band wagon but jeez stop looking like such fools doing it.
Hilary will win if she runs that is a fact..deal with it or more importantly plan a state by state strategy to minimize the damage she will do.
Only if you want hillary as President for the next 8 years!!!
If that happens I won’t have a chance to vote for a President until I’m 90 and I don’t know if I will last that long!!
What makes you think she won’t be elected if we do the same thing we’ve been doing since President Reagan left office?
I don’t agree with anything you said...Zip
Just as the American Independent and Libertarian party do nothing but hurt our chances and they have no chance at all.
