the Tea Party swept into the political vacuum left by the Republican Party in 2009. There was no voice for conservatives.

Willard shut us out of the republican convention in 2012..
Our Conservative leaders like Gov Sarah Palin were not allowed to speak and Willard’s own political agenda was put forward..
Willard changed some of the rules making sure that any delegates in 2016 would be handpicked or rejected by he and the GOPe in 2016...,
2016 will be full of the Paul Ryans, Marco Rubios, and the old guard...Willard, McCain, Rove and the other usual liberal suspects...
We have no place in “moderate progressive” Willard’s 2016 convention..
Let’s have our own...
I doubt Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Mike Lee etc will be recognized by the GOPe...
They will be available to represent a Conservative party...
If the GOP puts up a Jeb Bush or Rubio (or fill in the rino blank), it must be destroyed at the Federal level. Otherwise, it will essentially form a national unity party with the Dims (in effect this has already happened). A unity party will shut out all grassroots initiatives. The tea party, as currently constituted, is not a unified political organization.
I think the best idea is to form some organization that promotes reforms via the state level and along the lines of Mark Levin’s liberty amendments.
See my tagline.
We need to get rid of all political parties. Candidates should present their ideas and people can vote for or against them based on those ideas. Political parties force people to choose between tweedldumb and tweedledumber. I would like to vote for the candidate who most reflected my belief in following the Constitution and not between the lesser of two evils.
I’m all in. I quit my position in the GOP. Disgusting.
Lincoln and Johnson ran as the National Union Party, not Republicans and won, in 1864. One more thing they don’t teach in school, anymore. Too busy talking about Harriet Tubman, MLK, Malcolm X, Jackie Robinson and Obama, I guess.
Past time to start a Third Party. Shell shocked that we didn’t begin the task the evening Romney was nominated, and prepare for 2016. Time,
money, leadership and organization can’t happen in a vacuum. We’re in one, and the RINOS have screwed the lid down.
And a fine time to do just that...
We have the US Attorney deciding just what laws they will and will not enforce, we have States attempting to disavow themselves from the Union, We have the stupid Republicans still trying to act macho by standing up for war. Just who are you going to vote for now? Law and order is going the way of the Whigs...
All of this is happening when our beloved Republican Party that is suppose to be the “other” party is doing the same or worse as the Democrats. What to do now? Yes, Drudge has it right! He is just a few years late to the party.
Well, the obvious is no longer vote Republican but who else is there to vote for? You got me there since voting for another party is just going to split the vote and probably make the Democrats the winner - what a problem.
Another alternative? Still looking but not sure that there is any alternative that is possible during my lifetime.
How about getting a candidate who has a chance of defeating Hillary before we kill each other over what to name it
If you’re talking another Republican that is just a delaying game and will do nothing to advance the conservative cause.
Name one.
Stupid much?
If she runs no one is going to beat her.
I've got to thinking lately who could survive a defeat and come back 4 or 8 years later....
I'd say someone fairly unknown, who put up a good fight, and more than anything was likable coming across on TV as a star...Cruz comes to mind
Is this from the Tokyo Rose school of propaganda?
I hear what you’re saying, and kind of agree, but I don’t think we control the GOP nor will we. We are too balkanized. Would love to see a Third Party so that every election cycle it’s not “I’ll hold my nose and vote for ...”
I hate to rain on the picnic but the Tea Party will never be serious political party.
One reason is because the people who consider themselves Tea Party members are too divided.
Conservatives can’t even agree on a primary candidate long enough to get one into the general election.
But the biggest reason is because of time. Most conservatives are aging and the younger generation has a totally different set of values.
Gay marriage is a prime example. Younger folks are alright with the gay agenda the same way they’re alright with big government.
I’m in my 50s and I come to FR because like a lot of Freepers I miss the America I grew up in.
Sadly the wheel has turned and it’s not going to turn back,
No, the GOP is big business and politics, the Tea Party is the rest of us folks - or normal as I like to call us.
There will never be a time that we can agree most of the time it seems as all politics seem to be about power and only the rich can control with their funds. We do control with votes but will never outvote those that have the money.
I’m down. The GOP is a party of pansies and eunuchs. Let’s have us a second party.
You can start voting based upon principle as opposed to fear.
