1. The "death stare" was pre-planned ("When you meet Putin, Barack, you've got to make some sort of dramatic gesture.")

2. At least one cameraman was alerted to "catch the moment".

I think many have the wrong impression of the KJB. It was like the CIA...an intelligence gathering organization. Putin wasn't Rambo.
