The municipal government of the city of Venice, Italy has passed a law banning the terms mother and father on forms parents must fill out to gain a place for their children at publicly funded day care and kindergartens.
The civil rights and anti-discrimination policy was introduced by city councilor Camilla Seibezzi, who said that such changes to language are a fundamental objective to combat stereotypes. The [linguistic] construction forms a category of thought, a daily practice, she said.
The newspaper, Corriere del Veneto, reports that the terms will be replaced by parent 1 and parent 2. The change has not been popular, however, and Seibezzi has lodged a complaint with police against comments posted to a social media platform that she says were threatening.

Surprising so many normal people are tolerating this idiocy.
It IMPOSSIBLE to believe most human beings REALLY support this crap.
Well, the Italians can hardly be bothered to have any babies anyway, so who cares?
ok I see
In Sweden’s elementary schools terms such as “he” or “she” are forbidden for a long time.
Insanity spreads
In Washington state, the word "freshman" is out. And "first-year student" is in. In total, 40,000 words have been changed as part of an effort to rid state statutes of gender-biased language. The bill, signed into law earlier in the year by Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee, went into effect this week.
And it was no small task. "This was a much larger effort than I had envisioned. Mankind means man and woman," Democratic state Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles of Seattle told Reuters.
"Fisherman" is now a "fisher." "Penmanship" is called "handwriting." And "manhole cover" is, well, still "manhole cover." Some words dont have an easy replacement.
Others do: "His" is now his and hers. "Clergyman" is now "clergy." "Journeyman plumber" is now journey-level plumber, according to the Daily Mail.
According to Reuters, Washington is the fourth state to officially remove gender-biased language from the law. Others are Florida, North Carolina and Illinois. Nine other states are considering similar gender-neutral laws.
"Words matter," Liz Watson, a National Women's Law Center senior adviser, told Reuters. "This is important in changing hearts and minds." France recently officially banned the term "mademoiselle" from official documents. The Gallic term means "miss," and French officials contended it forced women to acknowledge their marital status.
The French also bid adieu to "maiden name," which they dismissed as "archaic." They should know: Paris only recently got rid of a law that banned women from wearing pants.
banning words like NAZIs
Gays always ask so innocently how their “marriage” will hurt non-gays...well this is just one of many examples of how it will “hurt” non-gays.
Vaffanculo! Stronzo!
nice way to get around the no profanity edict:))
Why not use dog terms like bitch and stud?
Parent1, Parent2 is discriminatory. Who wants to be #2?
Well, on the plus side, at least EVERYone is nucking futz. Not just us.
Yep. She’s a real woof-woof dog. With apologies to all canines.
what they are talking about is the breakup of the family, and aunts uncles guardians grandparents having to take the place of the parents or the kids have two moms or two dads or a horse a mom and a dad.........
Yep. They lied. But according to their religion, leftists are “absolved” in their minds for anything they do as long as it’s for the “common good” i.e., advances the psycholeft socialist agenda and replaces the natural family with the state.
Because that’s still “heterosexist”(can you believe such a word exists?) since its still referring to a female and a male.
Agreed...
I don’t think most do. However, most are too busy working, raising their families and living their lives. Psychosocialists have way too much time on their hands thus fill it with working tirelessly to “create Utopia on earth” which they define as absolute tyranny to control everything the rest of us say or do.
I think the late C.S. Lewis forsaw this kind of liberalism and socialism when he wrote this-
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
Don’t worry. The Mohammedans will take up the slack. What could possibly go wrong?/sarc
