Three Damascus residents, speaking on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals, confirmed such movements."

It wouldn't surprise me if Assad used the cover of a US attack to carry out his own offensive against civilians and the rebels. At that point, any damage is likely to be blamed on the US.

It's not like they don't have time to plan.
