NBC's Mitchell: Trust Obama, He's Going to Bomb Syria 'From A Very Cautious Anti-War Perspective'
mediaresearchcenter.org ^ | 8/30/13 | Kyle Drennan

On her Friday MSNBC program, host Andrea Mitchell tried to ease the concerns of Democratic Congresswoman Barbara Lee and other members of Congress calling for a congressional vote on military action in Syria: "Barack Obama, as you know better than I do, was one of the leading Democratic politicians against the Iraq War. So if he says that this is different, that the evidence is there....does that persuade you since he has always come at this from a very cautious anti-war perspective?" [Listen to the audio]

Accepting the odd juxtaposition of the President launching missile strikes from an "anti-war perspective," Lee responded: "And I'm very pleased that the President has come at this in a very cautious manner....But also that has nothing to do with our constitutional responsibility as members of Congress, Andrea."

The US won’t get to decide how “limited” this strike will be, once the first
cruise missile is launched. Iran and Russia could strike with their own
limited strike. It’s not very limited after that. In fact, it becomes WW3.

Just remember, Japan thought Pearl Harbor was only going to be a “limited strike”.

I thought the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.

Only a pretzel twisted, brain dead , double pimple popping, twit would bomb from an anti-war perspective.

Otherwise, it might be pretty ok, maybe. Just saying...

That really seems like the operative analogy. In 1914, it all seemed so simple -- Germany moves west, knocks France out of the war; no big deal. Germany pivots and moves east, knocks Russia out of the war. Everyone celebrates.

Only, things don't always go as planned.

I can see Obama staging a "small" action against Syria. I can see "limited" Russian involvement in support of Syria. I can see a major US warship on the bottom of the Mediterranean. I can see a counterstrike against Russian installations. I can see this getting way out of hand.

People often say, "It's different this time." But, in fact, it is often the same old sad story.

There, there Syria, you'll feel a pinch but you'll be OK.

These limousine liberals in their ivory New York Towers really do think that the “people” are just stupid sheep. And frankly, they haven’t been proven wrong yet.

HEY OBAMA DRONES...
1984 was supposed to be a WARNING, not an Operations Manual!
