Military sources have claimed that the role of senior British officers at the US Central Command in Tampa, Florida, has been downgraded because their American counterparts believe that they cannot be trusted with high-level intelligence about a conflict with which they are not involved. Roughly 30 British personnel have been working alongside the Americans and French and have been involved war planning for a number of weeks, including fine-tuning a list of targets and orchestrating military assets.[Snip] No British officers are now engaged in military planning and none will be involved in the execution of the operation, a British defence

I do not want this war which chickenhawks are begging for, but the British have opted out of this, so their involvement — especially with the intelligence - is not necessary.

This is a massive affront to Britain. That’s okay, this nine year old won’t be in power that much longer.

Britain knows what they are dealing with.

He’s been trying to drive a wedge between the UK and USA since he took office.

I think music sometimes says things more clearly.

This is what happens when the new age communism of nastiness with the dear leader happens: everyone gets alienated and frosting good relations amongst family members must be destroyed or of a sick jealousy coming from the son of a dead drunk driver.

The UK and US work side by side on base here. Can’t imagine this will go over well.

oh sure and when a crippled military aircraft needs to make it to Cyprus the Brits will be all prepared to support us since we don’t trust them enough to make plans

this is pretty snotty behavior toward our primary ally which has lost HUNDREDS of men and women fighting OUR war in Afghanistan

but expected, given barry’s petty advisors and his own arrogance

My thoughts exactly. USA/UK alliance is our oldest and most important alliance. Obama has done great damage to this alliance through his incompetent and unreliable diplomacy and military operations. The US Congress should follow the example of the UK parliament and vote “no” to Syrian operations.

“..especially with the intelligence - is not necessary.”

I read that although the Brits are not participating, their intelligence services will continue providing assistance.

IMO, without the Brit and European intelligence services, along with the NSA surveillance, CIA would have nothing.

The armed forces of anglosphere countries work very closely together. Most Americans have no idea of the level of integration.

British, Canadian, and Australian troops routinely train with US forces. RCAF fighters have, at times, been tasked with defending US airspace. RCN vessels are the only foreign ships the USN allows to fully integrate with US Surface Action Groups and Carrier Battle Groups.

This cooperation has been going on since 1941 and continues to this day. It will survive Obama as long as the adults take charge in Washington, soon.
