Wielding hammers, Croatian war veterans have torn down signs written in the Serbian Cyrillic alphabet that were put up on official buildings to boost minority rights in the new EU nation. …

Vukovar has a sizable Serb minority and having official signs in both the Croatian Latin alphabet and Serbian Cyrillic are in line with the country’s law on minority rights. …

Well done, President Clinton. Doing the fighting for the EU elites in order to facilitate their takeover of the former Yugoslavia.

Multilanguage signs like that are very divisive. They keep people from seeing their fellow citizens as, well, fellow citizens.

If you want to live in Croatia, learn Croatian.

The same line of reasoning applies to the US also. Our "melting pot" approach has been replaced by a "tossed salad" approach. Very dangerous.

So you agree with what Clinton did in the former Yugoslavia?

Taking “Why must I press 1 for English” to a whole new level. We could learn a thing or two from these veterans.

Another example of what happens world-wide when feckless Americans elect perverts and utter morons to lead them.

With the show-boating election of Obama TWICE the morals and mores of Americans complete the slide down the hole to the sewer.

Why wasn’t a proposed leader put forth by the Republicrat Party an example of Conservatism and true Americanism? It’s as though the Republicrat Party is in league with the forces of darkness: that Progressive/Republican cabal that wants only the worse for this nation!

NEW CONSERVATIVE PARTY! THE ONLY ANSWER OTHER THAN REVOLUTION.

The neo-cons believe that our version of Democracy (twisted statist, God-less, homosexual-loving, baby-killing, etc. ) must be exported to all nations of the world. These fools think this is a paradise and it is if you are, indeed, a fool!

No minority deserves special rights at the expense of the majority. You live in Croatia, speak Croatian. Same here in the US. You live here, learn the language and emulate American culture and respect its history. Otherwise, get the hell out and go back to the craphole you came from. This is why Europe is quickly dying.

We are witnessing this in our own country with “hate crime” laws, “homosexual” rights such as marriage, Black Congressional Caucus, etc. It is divisive and meant to separate.

Croats and Serbs are both Christian countries so It was sad to see them go at it but ot surprising given European history. At the time, I thought providing air cover for the Kosovars was nuts. Little did I know then how far down the rabbit hole we would go.

There’s no “Croatia”. They’ve voluntarily given themselves to the European Union.

There were terrible actions by all sides. The arguments for one side or another here on FR in the late 90s/early 00s were epic.

As far as I know, the Croatians and Serbians SPEAK the same language, along with the Bosnian Muslims (I was there in 1995), but it is religion that separates them all.

So Croatians are Catholics and use the Western Roman alphabet, while Serbians are Eastern Orthodox and use Russian/Greek Cyrillic. Bosnian Muslims use both, but more likely the Roman alphabet.

If there’s no Croatia, then this story never happened. So, why do you care about a story that didn’t happen?

Oh, no, not at all. Clinton took a bad situation and made it much, much worse. There are parallels between what Clinton did then and what Obama is trying to do in Syria today. We have learning nothing from our mistakes.

My comments were more general in nature. Forcing multiculturalism on a country (Croatia in this case) is not generally a good thing in the long run.

That’s true about the whole multiculturalism thing, but that’s what you get in the European Union. As far as the EU goes, though, it seems a means to an end in order to force their “ever closer union” upon member states (i.e. foster divisions, let them reach crisis point, then impose a draconian solution).

“Are you disagreeing about the European Union?”

Do you need the EU to have politically correct BS imposed on you? You mean Democrats don’t do it right here in the good old USA?

Unfortunately, there's a history between the two, especially Jasenovac.

“If you want to live in Croatia learn Croatian.”

Do you realize how silly this kind of sounds? Do you know the difference between Serbian and Croatian? Before the war the official language was called Serbo-Croatian, and for a reason.

Were it not for Serbian the Croatians wouldn't have an applicable language.
