FURIOUS politicians have demanded Prime Minister David Cameron explain why chemical export licences were granted to firms last January.
BRITAIN allowed firms to sell chemicals to Syria capable of being used to make nerve gas. Export licences for potassium fluoride and sodium fluoride were granted 10 months after the bloody civil war in the Middle East began. Yesterday, politicians and anti-arms trade campaigners urged Prime Minister David Cameron to explain why the licences were granted. Dunfermline and West Fife Labour MP Thomas Docherty, who sits on the House of Commons Committees on Arms Export Controls, plans to lodge Parliamentary questions tomorrow. He said: At best it has been negligent and at worst reckless to export material that could have been used to create chemical weapons. Ps will be horrified and furious that the UK Government has been allowing the sale of these ingredients to Syria." The SNPs leader at Westminster, Angus Robertson MP, said: I will be raising this in Parliament as soon as possible to find out what examination the UK Government made of where these chemicals were going and what they were to be used for. Approving the sale of chemicals which can be converted into lethal weapons during a civil war is a very serious issue. We need to know who these chemicals were sold to, why they were sold, and whether the UK Government were aware that the chemicals could potentially be used for chemical weapns. The ongoing humanitarian crisis in Syria makes a full explanation around these shady deals even more important. The Government have refused to identify the licence holders or say whether the licences were issued to one or two companies.

Ammonium cloride gas in a confined space is pretty dangerous and can kill you in a high enough concentration with long enough exposure. Yes we demand answers from Smith’s Grocery Store. As for you Mr Las Vegas Ron, what did you know and when did you know it? We need witnesses, dates, and times. And we want a shrubbery. Something very nice. But not too expensive.
This is a red line... oh wait a minute.
As for bombing them to hell, don’t put it past this idiot.
Britain will get to the bottom of it.
That’s what I figured. These probably have many legitimate uses. I can’t verify that, but it’s my hunch.
‘How many muzzies are in Britains political cadre?’
None. Contrary to myth, British Muslims have no political power or any major social power.
Yikes, I’d love to answer your post but for some reason I hear footsteps in the gravel and helicopters over my house...I’ll have to get back to you....
But the question remains, where did Syria get their chemical weapons.
The din of the silence is causing ears to bleed.
“No ... you’re not under arrest ... we just want to know what you plan to do with this stuff ... “
But if you don’t answer all of our questions, we’re going to take it from you!” Especially if it has to do with guns.
No, but they have plenty of useful idiots willing to do their bidding courtesy of Saudi oil money.
Ammonium chloride is a relatively harmless salt. But that’s not what you get when you mix ammonium hydroxide with chlorine (or sodium hypochlorite). You get chloramine, which is toxic.
I couldn’t remember the proper mix. I am no chemist.
That’s OK, I am.
Glad one of us is!
