US flatters ‘oldest ally’ France after shock UK vote on Syria

US Secretary of State John Kerry on Friday welcomed French support for possible military action against the Syrian regime, describing the country as America’s “oldest ally”.

After the US’ traditional ally Great Britain ruled itself out of any military strikes against the Assad regime in a parliamentary vote Thursday, Washington has looked in danger of becoming internationally isolated in its efforts to push for a military intervention.

However, French President François Hollande reaffirmed his country’s support for military action on Friday, telling French daily Le Monde that he supported taking “firm” punitive action in response to the Assad regime’s alleged use of chemical weapons.

France now looks like being the US’ only major international partner in any possible strike on Syria. …

Team Obama needs someone to take the lead, so Obama can lead from behind.

Isn’t this eerily starting to resemble a remake of Libya/Gadaffi? IIRC, the French took the lead on that because Obama wouldn’t.

While literally true, Mother England is the nation from which these United States sprang and whose language, laws, traditions, virtues and (to a large extent) bloodlines we call our own.

our president is responsible for causing this ‘arab spring’ chaos swirling about from nation to nation like a whirlwind, he set this in motion in 2009

the whole desperation thing to now launch missiles on Syria is turning surreal, and i can remember the utter failure of the carter administration, who wouldn’t prefer carter here,

it’s egos and arrogance coupled with incompetence that leads to blunders of historic significance,

As our Declaration of Independence states, ‘’When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another...’’

When the British Parliament voted against joining Obama in his Syrian adventure, Britain declared its independence from America, and it will likely be as better off for doing so as America was after 1776 when it declared its independence from Britain.

your correct, its Libya redux,

and this president is really only competent to perform community service work, ala obtaining grant monies for some teen center in Detroit or somewhere, or hosting the vma music awards, or having books ghostwritten for him while he works the talk show circuit responding to softball questions about all his ‘humanitarian of the century’ awards,

he is however certainly capable of being decisive when it comes to supporting the thug/abortion/gay culture,

the people voted for Saul, they also got Belshazzar, he is way out of his league on the world stage,

with the full power, prestige and influence of the USA standing behind such a lawless person,

this is beyond dangerous folks,
