Hurricane Michele Bachmann? Groups Hope to Name Storms After Climate-Change Deniers
National Journal Alex Brown 5 hours ago
If a pair of environmental groups get their way, Hurricane Michele Bachmann or Tropical Storm John Boehner could be the next storms threatening to wreak havoc on the U.S.
A new petition, proposed by Project Name Change and 350+ Action Fund, seeks to name storms after politicians who the groups say deny climate change. The groups' website provides a list of the targeted politicians.
Of course, it is unlikely that the World Meteorological Organization will change its naming practices, but the petition has garnered almost 49,000 signatures.
A video touting the plan shows mocked-up weather reports warning that "Marco Rubio is expected to pound the Eastern Seaboard" and "David Vitter is literally lifting boats out of the water and tossing them onto land." The levees "built to stop Hurricane Collin Peterson have been obliterated," says another report.
Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., one of Congress's most outspoken deniers of global warming, was a major target. "An entire nation is wondering how they'll ever recover from the disaster that is James Inhofe," the video's somber news anchor intones.

Have at it.
Once we prove this farce she can be the standard bearer...
Silly people doing silly things. What a shock..
Welcome King Barack "Canute" Obama the Great.....
...Obama issues an Executive Order to the Sun...
....to increase it's magnetic field....
and make a good crop of sunspots before elections in 2016....
(PhysOrg.com) -- Sunspot formation is triggered by a magnetic field, which scientists say is steadily declining. They predict that by 2016 there may be no remaining sunspots, and the sun may stay spotless for several decades.
The last time the sunspots disappeared altogether was in the 17th and 18th century, and coincided with a lengthy cool period on the planet known as the Little Ice Age....and lasted 400 years.
Good luck surviving with no electricity and GE modified seeds.
The northern warm water flow from the Atlantic has decreased or stopped, look at the cold winters in England. If anyone has evidence that it’s still flowing, I’d love to see it. Hope you look very longingly for your hurricanes...
Just wait, the earth is tipping and its screwing things up. Ask Al he is betting everything on the global pole shift,
Or you will be cold, they always miss those people.
Hurricane Wookie
Sure. I am open to the idea of climate change, since I know from reading history and science that the climate does change. I am not terribly alarmed about it because I don’t believe human activity caused it or that human activity can stop it. One would think that the information we do have about past climate change would factor into the discussion, although for the fanatics for whom this is almost a religion, this has no influence. So it does go back, as you say, to taxation and control. I remember someone saying, “Green is the new Red.”
I think they should name one Hurricane Jim Robinson. If not that, then at least Hurricane Free Republic.
If the green weenies can do this I say we start pushing this slogan: “Better a climate denier than a climate liar”. And I’m not getting any federal grants.
If there is a God in Heaven, Hurricane Tzimisce will be a class 5 and go right through downtown Boston. :)
Personally I think they should name storms after the Kardashians. The only problem is they all begin with “K”.
Do we get to name every snowflake after Albert Sidney Gore Junior?
Of course the climate charges. Wine used to grow in northern Britain.
Much of that change is driven by changes in the sun. Sunspot numbers have been correlated with English grain prices. The more sun spots, the lower the grain prices. Probably the sun doesn’t eat much grain, so the cause and effect relationship goes the other way. The sun causes grain prices to go up and down.
The sun is much much bigger than the earth. It is also far away from the earth. Accordingly there is very little human effect on the sun.
Human effect on Glow-ball Warming is small. QED
By the way, the climate change fanatics are now claiming that global warming inhibits hurricane formation by increasing wind shear. I read that a couple of weeks ago on a tropical weather forum — which is inhabited, naturally, by mostly global warming hysterics.
Hey, free press is free press!
Frankly, I’d be honored to have a mega-storm named after me.
It's part of the new Soviet/Fascism and this is an example of the build-up of it.
They are applying Alinsky Rule Number 12 in creating a slick Orwellian Two Minute Hate during every hurricane. The Left-wing "geniuses" at ClimateNameChange dot org is threatening all those who speak the truth: "fall in line with us fraudsters or suffer this."
How can we hope to counter it? It's so polished that there must be a lot of money behind it, and I bet they had no problems getting a 501 (c) 3 from the Obama IRS either.
No major US hurricanes since 2005. That's the longest span in 150 years.
