The CMP gets its rifles from the military, not from foreign imports. The last batches came from Greece, Italy, Denmark and a few from Germany and were loaned to those countries after WWII under the Military Assistance Program. When they are through with them, they will return them. There are other European countries with rifles that were loaned to them under the MAP and depending on the country, they may or may not be coming back to the US.

I am still seething about the destruction of all the Garands and Carbines that were to be returned from South Korea. What a waste.
