Washington -- President Barack Obama's administration today said it would take new executive action toward gun control, acting on issues that Congress failed to address through legislation.
The White House had promised big city mayors in a closed-door meeting Tuesday that it would take its own action on gun control.
The new steps would curb the import of military surplus weapons and close an obscure loophole that allows felons and others to register guns to corporations as a way to avoid background checks.
Vice President Joe Biden, who has led administration efforts on gun control, is expected to outline the plan at the White House today.
The executive actions are part of a list of 23 steps the White House said the president could take to reduce gun violence in the absence of any legislative initiatives passed by Congress.

EOs apply to federal employees is what is shouted out all of the time. So Omuslim changes the wording around to Executive Action (EAs), Congress lets him slide like duck butter and the MSM says it is the law of the land.

This president evidently believes that he is entitled to sidestep Congress, since it (the Republican-controlled House, especially) is "obstructionist."
This is all part and parcel of the leftist fetish for "getting things done in Washington"; as if it were a good thing for Washington to be continually coming up with all sorts of quick fixes...
This is hard to follow so far. There are few surplus foreign made weapons coming in the country now. Just 50 year+ old curio/relic classes. But our lend lease weapons from WW II are also coming in to CMP. cleaned up and sold to the public. This is already law that I doubt he can change by Exo but that doesn’t mean he can’t F it up and slow it down.-——————————just when I thot ammo sales were slowing down.
The last I read the feds had stopped the pending re-importation of carbines and Garands from Korea.
Also I have been told that CMP does not deal in re-imported weapons (which are all stamped as such).

I am still upset about not picking up a carbine when CMP had a bunch of them a few years ago.

Perhaps. But the House learned under Clinton, that it does no good to Impeach if the Senate refuses to even look at the evidence.
The Senate controlled by Harry Reid would just laugh at impeachment.
If the Republicans take the Senate in 2014, impeachment might have a small chance to do some good.
It's millions of cuts administered by hundreds of thousands of little kings.
Much of urban poverty, particularly among blacks, is the result of local, county and state licensing, permitting and zoning ordinances. It's the same in health care, education, etc. They imposition of legal monopolies kills entrepreneurship and redirects risk to bad behaviors.

I was recently talking with a marina owner who is being crushed financially by environmental regulations because his property is, naturally, on the water in a so-called flood zone. The government has forced him to extensively modify his main office building and to implement a very expensive water run-off collection system. This is on top of myriad other fees, taxes and regulations he is subject to. He has been forced to lay people off and is nearing the point of bankruptcy after two decades of operation. He will likely sell soon — if he can find a buyer.
There are millions of stories similar to this one in today’s Amerika.
