Russian president Vladimir Putin was "infuriated" by President Obama's joke that he looked "like the bored kid in the back of the classroom," according to a Kremlin official quoted anonymously by the New York Times.
The report comes as the United States weighs a military response to the use of chemical weapons in Syria a move that Russian officials have warned President Obama against. Russia is expected to block any attempt to get authorization for a strike in the United Nations Security Council, where Moscow holds veto power.
Obama made the comment earlier this summer during a showdown with Putin over Edward Snowden, the former U.S. defense contractor who leaked top-secret details of the National Security Agency's surveillance programs. Putin ultimately opted to grant Snowden temporary asylum over the objections of Obama, and the president was asked about his working relationship with the Russian leader.
"I know the press likes to focus on body language, and he's got that kind of slouch, looking like the bored kid in the back of the classroom. But the truth is that when we're in conversations together, oftentimes it's very productive," Obama said.
The president insisted that he did not have "a bad personal relationship with Putin."
"When we have conversations, theyre candid, theyre blunt; oftentimes, theyre constructive," Obama continued.

Make no mistake about it; Putin loves Obama. Obama is the most incompetent POTUS in history and Putin continues to run circles around him.

Didn't one of Putin's offical spokespersons (the other day) refer to the (illegal) proposed U.S. military strike against Syria as ...
"dangerous as a monkey with a hand grenade" ?
Putin is just goading the Sodomite Kenyan into a military disaster, that Putin and his guys designed "months ago".
Obama is Nero ... on a really "stupid" and "insane" day ...

You're on the right track ...
But Putin isn't just looking to shoot down an F16 ...
He's aiming to bag a couple of U.S. Navy Destroyers ... maybe even a "hat trick" ...
all with "Syria's Hands on the Trigger" ...

For Putin, Syria is a demonstration show. If you think anything less, then you are wrong. Putin needs to enhance the attractiveness of the Russian arms industry, which used to be a major source of exports. This might be the way to do it.
Then Obama would have to explain how he thought it was acceptable to send US forces to initiate an attack against a country which had not attacked Americans, without Congressional OK.

Had Obama paid his dues, spent more years in lesser positions, hed know how to behave. Great post, General. Thanks for taking the time to post a cogent observation.

Mr. Putin must not appreciate Great Leader’s condescending Greatness. Mr. Putin should learn to love Great Leader, as we here in the US have.

And you really wouldnt want to be the President, trying to find the right words to excuse the mess you walked into.Yep, I reckon blaming everything on the previous president or the current foot-dragging House Republicans won't cut it if American planes are shot down.
Not that I think any jets will fly over Syria. Stealth bombers, maybe.

Pure fiction. Where's all the damaging info the CIA was going to release? This article is from May 2009. If the CIA was soooo pissed they would have released something prior to 2012, don't you think?
As I said, pure fiction...and bad fiction at that.

Obama is arrogant and cannot prevent himself from shutting up instead of assuming he has all keys and custodies and others not. He is a fool.

Your Post #19 was an excellent summation.

Under the right ‘alone’ circumstances, I’m sure ‘bored’ Putin would show that pussy Obama just how “bored” he is.

I would love to see Putin meet him and give him the iron handshake and make him cry. Better yet reach out to shake and just clock him and walk off.

"like the bored kid in the back of the classroom," Well....I see now how fearless leader has improved our relations with the rest of the world. He's a real word merchant.... that Obama!!!!

I totally agree. Syria has bought hundreds of silkworms from Russia and if the US attacks they are liable to blow off a few and aided by Russian satellites might well take out one of our carriers. How is Barky going to splain that one to the public?
