McCain viscerally hates conservatives and wants to provide his buddies the democrats with permananent voting majorities, just as he wanted to get democrats unlimited campaign funding while limiting republican campaign funding in his Campaign Finance Reform law. He went apoplectic when the Citizens United decision came down, gutting his signature legislation.
