Does Putin want to show the world an example of selling out an ally (unsavory as he might be) for oil? Makes him no better than the USA
Besides the Russians have other ways to achieve dominance over the global oil markets without making a deal with the fickle duplicitous Sauds-
just survive and form a new axis with China, as barry and the eurocrats take the US and Europe to continuing economic and social bankrupcty

I guess that hasn't been about the nuts that grow on trees. Rather "Doo-rah-kee" == fools. In the latinised spelling it's "duraki", in Cyrillic script - "дураки".
So by leaking this story to the Russian press Putin does three things:
1. Tells the world that he won’t buckle under pressure to drop Assad.
2. Tells the Saudis and everyone else that he can’t be threatened.
3. Calls the Chechen rebels Saudi puppets, which will play well at home.
The Russians will eventually (when the bombs start dropping) abandon Assad. Then they’ll wield their influence on the jihadis who take over. We’ll get nothing out of it.

I can’t verify it, but I have read that many Russians believe oil is a renewable resource and not a “fossil fuel”. I don’t know what the actual prevailing opinion is. If that’s so, what you said makes a lot of sense. They wouldn’t make a deal like this because they know/think they’ll always have enough oil.
Putin: “Say, that’s a nice city of Mecca ya got there! It would be a R-E-A-L shame if anything happened to it!”
We are a long ways from becoming a net oil exporter.

Russia will demand removal of US Forces from Europe and a massive disarmament of US nuclear weapons and Missile Defense. China will demand that the US stop arming Taiwan and reign in the Japanese Defense Forces.

Not gonna happen...at best, if the Lord tarries awhile yet, key liberal areas in the US will be destroyed therebye releasing liberal media and socialist control over the consciousness of the remaining population. A fight for survival and reconfiguration of territories will cause a return to conservative philosophies as they will be necessary just to sustain existence. (and to curry the Lord’s help for the penitent.)
What if they decide to base oil in rubles not dollars? That would seal the deal and seal our fate.
The government can subsidize energy which is like an anti-tax. That is what they do in the oil-rich countries.
