I expect this to escalate into a hot war on September 4, 2013 (Rosh ha Shanah) or just after. This would coincide with terrorist threats made against Israel timed to be carried out during Jewish holy days.

Such a response by Syria on Israel would require large amounts US and NATO ground and air assets and a much larger military presence overall.
