Scarborough Warns GOPers After Zimmerman Gun Factory Visit: Don’t ‘Embrace Him as a Hero’

Joe Scarborough and the Morning Joe panel expressed ubiquitous shock and outrage at George Zimmerman’s tour of a factory that made the gun he used to kill Trayvon Martin, arguing that the action should cause those lionizing Zimmerman as a “hero” to think twice from now on.

“There’s a certain faction of the American political system that has embraced George Zimmerman as a hero,” Scarborough said Monday morning. “I said from day one, during the trial, that it was going to be hard to convict this man. That doesn’t mean that many on the far right need to embrace this man, whose own lawyers are now running away from him.”

“Not only isn’t he a hero, he is a man who recklessly went in, was told by the cops to stay away,” Scarborough continued. “He disobeyed the cops’ orders and he kept chasing this guy. If you want to quibble about the last seconds, who was fighting whom, that’s fine, quibble about it. This is not a man that Republicans should embrace as a hero. He is anything but a hero.”

The panel also wondered if Zimmerman’s lawyers had indicated through their comments that they didn’t believe Zimmerman was innocent of the murder.

“Whether or not you think George Zimmerman got away with murder,” Willie Geist said, “and a lot of people do—”

“Sounds like his attorneys think he did,” cohost Mika Brzezinski said.

“—you still took the life, however it happened, of a young kid with that gun.”

He shot a thug who was ready to kill him.

The problem has been the focus on irrelevant arguments – some of which are actually unsupported by the evidence.

1. ‘GZ racially profiled TM’ There is no evidence of this.

2. ‘GZ disobeyed an order by the police’ * The civilian dispatcher, Sean Noffke, testified that he did not give GZ an order and, in fact, he, like his fellow dispatchers, are trained not make comments that sound like commands. * Noffke also testified under cross that, as a result of his asking GZ which way TM was going, GZ could have reasonably interpreted this as being asked to follow Martin. * It is also not a crime in Florida to disregard a comment made by a civilian dispatcher.

3. ‘GZ got out of his car’ Not a crime on public property and not negligent either.

4. ‘GZ followed TM’ Again, anyone can follow anyone on a public street unless the followee has obtained a restraining order against the follower and even there, the RS only places time, place, and manner restrictions on the person enjoined.

5. ‘GZ wasn’t really injured’ * Under Florida’s self-defense laws, one doesn’t have to be injured AT ALL to use deadly force * No one is required to refrain from defending himself while another is engaged in or attempting to commit a felony.

6. ‘TM is dead through no fault of his own’ * If you believe that TM assaulted GZ, then he IS dead as a result of his own actions.

7. ‘GZ could have left’ * Under Florida law, there is not a duty to withdraw rather than use deadly force * TM was straddling GZ so how the latter was supposed to leave the scene is unanswered.

8. ‘GZ was armed and TM wasn’t’ * One’s fists can be considered weapons and can result in severe bodily harm or death. * GZ was legally carrying a weapon * There is no requirement under the law that the same weapon be used by the assailant * A homeowner can kill an intruder whether or not he has been threatened * Those that attack cannot feign surprise if they are met with superior firepower.

9. ‘Stand Your Ground!’ * SYG is NOT at issue in this trial. * The defense is a classic self-defense case.

10. ‘Black men NEVER get to use SYG!’ * Wrong http://tinyurl.com/nboht35

11. ‘GZ is a man and TM was a boy!’ * As if ‘boys’ don’t commit murder, rape, and assault everyday in this country.

Mensa candidate and ghetto-darling of the Left, Rachel Jeantel, told us in sworn testimony that Saint Skittles just intended to give a little “@$$-whooping” to the “creepy-@$$ crackah rapist” and that the only problem was that George Zimmerman overreacted. Trayvon wasn’t going to kill him, just break a few bones. Zimmerman should have known that. If he had just allowed himself to be @$$-whooped like a good little white-Hispanic, Saint Trayvon would still be with us.

“Not only isn’t he a hero, he is a man who recklessly went in, was told by the cops to stay away"

Which he did you moron. You can hear him stop walking on the phone call "We don't need you to do that" OK..he stops, even though he only "followed" the attempted murderer about half a block. It was only when he went to look at the street sign that the attempted killer attempted to kill Zimmerman. And who the hell has ever called him a hero? He's just an average citizen who used his God given right to defend himself which people do every day.

He’s not a hero because he took a life.

He’s a hero because he survived the liberal media deliberately altering the perception of what he did by selectively playing tapes of his discussion,

he’s a hero because he survived the entire black and liberal portion of this country pre-judging him guilty,

he’s a hero because he won over liberal government attempting to crucify a private citizen who acted in self-defense but government wanted a scapegoat even though their own police and DA and FBI did their investigations and found nothing to charge him with.

For persevering and winning his innocence for defending his own life from being murdered by a young punk thug, he’s a hero. A guy who did volunteer work with young black kids, who had even voted for Obama in 2008, hardly to be considered a racist.

Didn’t the Morning Joke call Zimmerman a murderer just like his friends at the Obama Network?

“Morning Joke” indeed. What planet is this man on? At what point does anyone who considers themselves to be a liberty-loving Republican follow the leadership of Joe Scarborough? There’s a reason he no longer seeks public office...

Joe didn’t watch the trial, or is ignoring the facts presented. He didn’t ‘go after’ Trayvon at any time. He walked on foot to figure out what this fool was up to. Trayvon attacked him on the way back to the car. All the facts support this scenario.

The fact that the guy Zimmerman was suspicious of, moments later assaulted him, proves he was right to be suspicious.

The people who slander Zimmerman do so on the basis of the color of his skin while ignoring the content of his character. He’s a stand-up guy and has proven it again and again throughout his life.

Why, yes, Joe did - was going to say the same thing, but there you go - Joe is a contemptible excuse for a human being. Sure would like to know more about his skeletons and why he term-limited himself. Didn’t some girl/intern or someone die in his office?

Z had a gun.
TM was no different and came from the same mold as the 3 that got Lane, 2 that got Shorty the 3 that burned the guy in Ill and I can’t recall the other ones, all too recent.
Trayvon picked the wrong guy, good.
