Fair assessment of how things are now in S.C. before the June 10, 2014 Republican primary.

I heard State Senator Lee Bright interviewed and he sounds very inspiring. He impressed me as a solid Tea Party advocate and came across as being much better than John McCain’s friend.

Actually, the number of primary challengers is unimportant. If Graham fails to get 50% of the vote, it forces a runoff between the top two vote getters. That would be when the real primary fight occurs, and if SC voters are pissed off enough, Graham will be tossed out.

Wouldn’t you think the 40 could just get together and pick on viable candidate and forget the squabbling until Lindsay is gone - gone?

The RSC plan: divide and conquer. Flood the field with candidates and dilute the anti-Graham percentages so Lyndsey’s 33% carries him to victory.

Well, SC congressman Bob Inglis, a big RINO, was also assured by the leftist media that he would win re-election. He was defeated in the june, 2010 primary by conservative Trey Gowdy, who is the current representative. Gowdy got 71% of the vote vs Gowdy’s 29%.

You are correct. I searched “Challengers” and did not turn up this very same post two hours earlier. That’s my explanation and I’m sticking with it, not matter how indefensible it may be.
MODERATOR: PLEASE PULL THIS DUPLICATE THREAD.
To: Resettozero
why was it necessary to mention the Confederacy? Not relevant to anything today, let alone conservative Republicans. Just NYT with its propaganda again.

I say leave this thread too. It is in breaking news and a very worthwhile article.
I only provided the link to the other thread so that some of the previously commentary is available to those interested.

I think 80 percent of SC people think Graham is “conservative”. And people in SC do not easily shed their own misperceptions.

I had forgotten about Inglis, who I believe was conservative in his first term until he started flirting with DC liberals.

Both represent(ed) my district and I remember well what happened. You may think Bob Inglis was a big RINO, but there were other reasons why he was not re-elected to the House or elected to the Senate. We wanted someone more bold and steadfast. Bob, a fine man, just didn't stand up to the Washington pressure as well as we wanted.

I think we should go by the policy of:
“It is better to have the enemy you know than the traitor in your midst”
I say primary him and if we lose to a Dim-o-crap at least we know to work against him in a forward battle, and we don’t have to keep watching our own backs for holes...
If a poodle with a block of cheese tied to it’s backs beats Lind-seed in the primary and only gets one vote in the general, it would be worth it for that reason alone...
