Why would Putin give Obama what Obama wants?

Putin’s best bet is to allow the U.S. to dissolve it’s own influence in the region, outside of Israel, and essentially ignore Israel as long as they stick with defending themselves against Hezbollah and Hamas.

What other nation allows itself to topple itself from power and become Isolationist again?
