the Saudis are the enemy, even more than the Iranis (who are also the enemy). The US should not send any weaponry nor money to either side.

But remember that Assad is the lesser evil and it's better for him to "win" -- even if he does kill off the jihadis, the way it would turn out is (assuming the US and UK and France don't interfere): He gets the populous Western part of Syria, which has the majority of Christians (15% of the population) plus borders Lebanon and Israel.

The inner part becomes Alqaeda-land. The north-east joins Kurdistan
