Fresh sectarian violence struck northwestern Myanmar early Sunday when a 1,000-strong Buddhist mob burned down dozens of Islamic homes and shops following rumors that a young woman had been sexually assaulted by a Muslim man, police said. There were no reports of injuries.

Some research into the way some countries that are majority Buddhists treat people of other religions might yield some surprises for you. Sri Lanka and Bhutan come to mind pretty quickly. It’s not just retaliation against Muslims. Violence against Christians goes unreported in our media, but it’s a part of the Christian’s lives there. I’m not defending Muslims at all. I’m just saying that Buddhists burning homes and shops doesn’t surprise me. I know Buddhists who would never do such things, of course. But, it doesn’t take much research to find out that intolerance of other religions is a prominent feature of governments in countries that are majority Buddhist.
Buddhist are more insidious, not more peaceful.
Thank goodness someone is willing to take a stand against the islamopigs!
