Gov. Sarah Palin and Sen. Rand Paul are Baby Boomers, not Generation X.

President Obama has extraordinary talents but shows no ability to unify the nation in common purpose or to devote sustained energy to a cause greater than his own.

maybe that's cause obozo's "extraordinary talents" start and end with the ability to read words someone else wrote off a teleprompter...

I kinda thought milbank’s piece was strange when I read it this morning. Looks like a guilt issue to me. Lighten up Dana.

If you want a war to unite in a common cause, just wait. A civil/race slaughter, that overthrows a corrupt Socialist monarchy, with millions dead should suffice.

This also has the advantage of being entirely without any ROE, so that only the most unspeakably savage "war crimes" will be enough.

Why do I think my wikipedia entry will include the term "war criminal" used frequently?

Too bad the fool (Milbank) doesn’t know the difference between “affect” and “effect.” The former is assuredly what he means.

“Effect, affect. Effect is a noun meaning “result”; affect is a verb meaning “influence.”” Source: Strunk - http://home.ccil.org/~cowan/style-revised.html#effect

And to think his idiot editor let this through as well!

Palin yes, barely, Cruz no, as he was born after ‘65. Paul is also barely a Boomer, Ryan an X’er born the same year as Cruz.

I was very lucky to be born on the leading edge of Generation X and turned 18 just in time to vote for President Reagan in 1984. Most Gen X’ers came of age after Reagan and during all the optimism of the fall of the Soviet Union. Gen X’ers were 26 and under during Dessert Storm, that’s not mentioned in this article. Gen X military flyers were put in the unfortunate position of advancing Islamists in the Balkans by President Clinton.

President Reagan identified oversize government as the problem over 30 years ago (ugh). If today’s Gen X politicians heard Reagan, then we have a chance to blunt the path to Socialism after all.
