Soon after being sentenced by a military judge to 35 years behind bars for leaking US diplomatic cables and other evidence of war crimes, the person formerly known as Pfc Bradley Manning announced to the world that she - not he - would from now on like to be referred to as, "Chelsea". After being called everything from hero to traitor, Manning announced she wanted to be called something else: a woman.
"As I transition into this next phase of my life, I want everyone to know the real me. I am Chelsea Manning. I am a female," Manning said in a statement. "Given the way that I feel, and have felt since childhood, I want to begin hormone therapy as soon as possible. I hope that you will support me in this transition."
It's not hard, identifying someone as they wish to be identified. It's actually really easy and it's called politeness. But sometimes bigotry and political partisanship get in the way of good manners and basic decency.
Erick Erickson, a conservative pundit, former CNN contributor and all-American dumbass, chose to react to the news of Manning's transition with the over-compensating masculinity of a 13-year-old bully who wets the bed. "Chelsea," he wrote on Twitter, is "someone who won't man up [ editor's note: do you get it? ] to what they've done and instead goes for a sympathetic distraction in the press". Because as anyone familiar with the corporate press (and the American public) will tell you, nothing garners more sympathy than a recently convicted national security whistle-blower - "traitor" in the parlance of our times - coming out as transgender.
Earlier, because he is a tiny child in a bloated body, Erickson linked to a piece about Manning's gender identity.....

Isn’t Mr/Ms/It Bradley making a mistake by calling (whatever)self a woman and asking/hoping for a sex change operation?
Presumably, he/she/it wants to be a woman because, he feels like a woman, and likely is attracted to the male gender.
So, once he/she/it gets the authorities to grant him the female gender, and gets the surgery to make him/her/it look/seem female, wouldn’t he/she/it have to spend the rest of his/her/its life in a women’s prison, AND, away from the male gender. Wouldn’t he/she/it be better off remaining a “him” externally, and thereby, staying at a male prison where he could probably get a lot of “attention” from the male population? At the female prison, he/she/it will just be another female, and not the their type; unless, that is. the he really wants to become a “lesbian”?

I guess they could satisfy his request with Islamic law and a sharp knife then tell him to go on his way. That should solve the problem for all of us.
Maybe he's just coming to grips with reality. He knows that over the next 35 years he WILL be someone’s prison bitch... Guess he might as well transition into the role as best as possible.

This is the agenda. If you want to survive in a prison situation, you need to be in a women’s prison.
But there’s a problem here. I don’t know of a single federal rule (let alone a single military rule)....that would allow a trans-man-woman-it to be moved from a men’s prison to a women’s prison. It’s never been done. So it’s another court operation....likely to make it to the Supreme Court.
The question is....can you get a rise out of five Supremes....to vote in favor of Bradley? I don’t think so.
He wants everyone to know?
