ATF advances executive gun controls with proposed trust rule change
Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 8/23/13 | David Cordrea

Posted on 08/23/2013 1:06:19 PM PDT by Nachum

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives sent a proposed regulation to the White House for review that would impose new requirements on gun trusts, Julian Hattem of The Hill reported Wednesday.

“The Department of Justice is proposing to amend the regulations of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) regarding the making or transferring of a firearm under the National Firearms Act,” DOJ announced on RegInfo.gov, saying:

The proposed regulations would (1) add a definition for the term ‘responsible person’; (2) require each responsible person of a corporation, trust or legal entity to complete a specified form, and to submit photographs and fingerprints; (3) require that a copy of all applications to make or transfer a firearm be forwarded to the chief law enforcement officer (CLEO) of the locality in which the maker or transferee is located; and (4) eliminate the requirement for a certification signed by the CLEO.

Give your best firearms to your heirs long before you die. You aren’t going to be going to battle in your old age anyway, give them to the youngsters who need them. If they come for me after I turn 75 I won’t need anything but my trusty lever action rifle.

I will soon be 66. My favorite is my 30-30 lever. Not fancy, but great brush gun. With a Williams sight and the right load with 170 grain bullet it is devastating.

Recently bought the material to load the Hornady FTX Leverevolution 200 grain bullet for my model 71 .348 Winchester. That one is a thumper. And kicks like a mule.

I am trying to find the Federal 125 grain HP’s for home defense but they are scarce. I might try to call Federal and see if they still make them.

Here’s an idea...

Tell ‘em “No”.

No, I’m not jumping through your hoops anymore.
No, I’m not filling out yet another worthless piece of paper.
No, I’m not asking your PERMISSION to exercise a RIGHT.

I was ok with paying your questionable “tax”, but you’ve gone FAR beyond that into outright infringements and it ends HERE.

"I was ok with paying your questionable “tax”, but you’ve gone FAR beyond that into outright infringements and it ends HERE." That statement lends a certain gravitas to your handle and tagline. TC

I think we ought to throw out the tax, registration, and necessity of obtaining government permission. Not a speck of that does anything to make the nation safer.

BTDT. Passed on my custom made 300 win mag with niteforce scope on to younger eyes. Passed on my DPMS Panther .308 to stronger arms. I have my Stag Model 8 with Eotech sight to keep me warm.

Passing on my 20 gauge Mossberg 500 as soon as I have the gunsmith go over it. Getting too old to handle the kick from that pistol-gripped bastard.
