A savior or a sell-out? A compromise or compromised?
-snip-
HE DOESNT GIVE a s- what people think, a Republican close to Chris Christie told Politico after the governor denounced the Republican House and Speaker Boehner (yes, by name) for voting down a pork-laden aid bill in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. We pretty much knew Christie felt that way, though it was good to see it confirmed in writing. The bigger question, one that should concern Christie, is what people think about him.
We know hes home safe in New Jersey, cruising toward re-election this November as he enjoys high approval numbers, a whittled Democratic opposition he himself helped weaken, and growing celebrity among those who care about such things. The problem for him is that almost nothing hes done to win New Jersey can translate into a winning national Republican candidacy, let alone one that conservatives could in any way trust.
For one thing, there is glaring fact of his New Jerseyness. Big, fat, coarse, hes forever pushing his weight around, playing the wise guy or the charmer, always insisting on being the center of attention (unless Barack Obama comes calling), the big shot in a small place, the son of a Sicilian (not Italian) mother, as he said at the Tampa convention. He may not know better. Hes never really lived and worked anywhere else. How someone this provincial can be said to have national ambitions is a mystery.

Whatever his political future, its hard to imagine well ever see him again stuffing donuts into his mouth on the David Letterman show.

They're stuck on stupid. Christie's bud, Barry Cupcake, is an Indonesian citizen of uncertain parentage. If Progressives desire a fuss about this evil deception there's no problem. Perhaps questions would be answered regarding fraudulent SS# and Selective Service registration and Occidental/Columbia records. This amateurish fool is an enigma wrapped in an enigma.
Foe.
My opinion: What gets elected in New Jersey stays in New Jersey.
Next question.
Fat foe.
I used to think he was kinda okay, but anymore, he just makes me sick to look at him.
I’d say there is equal probability of NJFatboy being the Republican nominee or Hillary’s VP.
If it’s Hillary vs NJFatboy in 2016 I’m writing in Putin!
I can already hear the argument: "If you right-wing, one-issue, Social Conservatives stay home, that's a vote for Hitlery Rotten."
Yeah? Well, up yers.
A vote for Chris Christie is a vote for Hitlery Rotten.
HA! So there! How ya like me now!
There’s just no way to polish this turd. Leave him in the cesspool that is New Jersey.
Fat Mo’ Foe.
There, fixed it.
Foe. All bluster, no cajones.
I was a huge (not literally) supporter of Christie when he was first elected and took so much heat for trying to address out of control pensions and etc. I was singing (again, not literally) his praises at dinner one time several years ago, when a friend of mine who is a very knowledgeable Republican insider corrected me. “It’s all for show” he said. He then went through the actual size of the NJ pension disaster, and compared it to the total value of the items Christie was proposing to cut. They didn’t even qualify as a drop in the bucket.
He told me that the whole fight between Christie and the unions was NOT designed to solve the pension shortfall, but it was designed by Christie’s team to set up a few small scale confrontations that involved budget items the unions could be relied upon to scream bloody murder over, but which would be hard for them to defend, and it would make Christie look tough and reasonable by comparison.
Ever since then I have thought of Christie as a fake version of what this country really needs, which is someone who is willing to take real heat for really cutting spending and protecting freedom.
In short: foe.
States like Massachusetts, New Jersey, Illinois, California, New York should not be the place to get presidential candidates from either party. They are almost assured to have been marinating in liberalism.
“States like...”
You did not mention Connecticut.
Yeah... we all know how that Reagan guy turned out.
California has changed a lot since Reagan’s time.
Friend - Of - Barack
When do you think Fatboy CC saw his pecker?
