We don’t have no belly turrets no more....We gots “stealth”....sneak in, drop a bunch of bombs, sneak out....all to provide a raison d’etre for these bloated, egregiously expensive behemoths meant to execute an entirely different and specialized purpose not remotely related to dropping conventional bombs.
Actually... that reminded me of a story of a Wheels up landing by one.. and the gunner was trapped in the turret.. Can’t remember the details, but I believe the gunner miraculously survived.
