With rifles and shotguns strapped to their backs, members of the Come and Take Kingwood group held their first Open Carry Demonstration on the streets of Humble.
The group met up at the intersection of Main Street and Avenue C in downtown Humble and walked in a silent but powerful demonstration of the right to bear arms on Main Street, N. Houston Avenue and First Street Aug. 17.
The Come and Take It Kingwood group is affiliated with the Come and Take It America group which hosts open carry demonstrations throughout the country, .........
Good job, Kingwood - come and take it! how did we ever get away from open carry in the first place?
And if the po-po do show up & try to take them, make it go viral in an instant. Sunshine is an amazing disinfectant.
Good for them. Wish I’d have known about it.
“.......The Humble Police Department stayed with the group throughout their walk to make sure there were no problems or confrontations but they did not encounter any”.........
What did they THINK was going to happen with all those armed marchers? No one in their right mind would have gone up against them. (Then again, there are a lot of people not in their right mind).
If 500,000 armed citizens walked into Washington, D.C. and sat on the Mall, what would the authorities do? If the police began to arrest those at the periphery and 500 rifle muzzles came up and met them, would they continue to advance or would they retreat? If a SWAT Team was surrounded and forced to march away in their underwear, would the media report it?
Frankly, I think the political class would flee and declare D.C. an open city.
Dear NSA, I'm just postulating on possible events based on the news, not making suggestions.
Kingwood is a suburb of Houston.
Let me present exhibit A:
OR:WCSO: Man brings knife, bat to gun store robbery
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) The Discount Gun Sales shop at 8118 SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway is closed Thursday night, following a reported robbery attempt.
Around 4 p.m. a man carrying a 9-inch knife and a baseball bat entered the gun shop and smashed a display case, according to the Washington County Sheriffs Office. His apparent aim? An unloaded semi-automatic handgun.
The shattered gun case at the Discount Gun Sales shot on SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway as of July 25, 2013. (Courtesy of the Washington County Sheriffs Office.)
The stores manager then grabbed his own gun. That gun, however, was loaded.
The store manager called Sheriffs Deputies and reported the man smashed a display case and removed a handgun, according to a sheriffs office news release. The manager said he had his gun pointed at the robber, keeping him detained until the deputies arrived.
The suspect has been identified by the sheriffs office as 22-year-old Derrick Mosley.
Mosley is lucky to be alive, Ray said.
The 22-year-old has been arrested, and faces charges that include First Degree Robbery, First Degree Theft, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Second Degree Criminal Mischief. Hes being held at the Washington County Jail on $250,000 bail.

Nobama would use the military to “secure” the mall from the terrorists.
I bet if they take the “concealed” part of that law out and just go back to gun belts that would stop a lot of this savage behavior we’re seeing so much of. The loonies are going to get guns but if they see others with them they might rethink things. I know, I’m a dreamer......or am I?
I searched for a video of this event, you would think something like this would be recorded and posted somewhere.
Perhaps someone else could find something, just wondered why they would not video tape this effort.
If the interstates are a parking lot it would be very difficult to get them there.
A huge thumbs up to this group for doing everything right!
“The Come and Take It Kingwood group members made sure to inform business owners in the Humble area as well as the Humble Police Department that this demonstration would be taking place.”
The few minutes it takes for a little notification like this, to give a heads up to businessmen along the route, to talk to the police ahead of time, and to carry documentation of the applicable laws, pays off in so many ways, that everyone should do it.
It doesn’t just make the event painless and not frightening to the easily frightened, but it makes the event a popular *success*.
It is the difference between seeing a platoon of armed soldiers marching down the street, and knowing that they are doing so as part of a veterans parade. Changes the whole context and mood.
Oh yes, very true, but killing thousands of peaceful (albeit armed) citizens with heavy weapons would not present good visuals and could be throwing a match into a powder keg. First, the pilots might refuse orders. Second, those aircraft have to land somewhere.
Third, someone will know and report who ordered the attack.

Anyone know what the Kingwood SWAT action is going on this morning in Kingwood - The Livable Forest.
