Watts Up With That? ^ | 8/21/13 | Willis Eschenbach

“We can confidently say that the risk of drought and heat waves has gone up and the odds of a hot spot somewhere on the planet have increased but the hotspot moves around and the location is not very predictable.

That single sentence contains all the required elements of a good novel—unpredictability, increasing risks, a dangerous moving “hotspot”, confident experts, a planet in peril … all the stuff that goes into an exciting story, it’s perfect for a direct-to-DVD movie.

I was just thinking that very same thing as they predicted a 111 temp degree reading in the Imperial Valley today. Statistics say it should only be 110.

Hotspot Hotspot!!!!!!!!!!

The Marxists behind the “anthropogenic global warming” fraud are growing more desperate every day. That would be worth a few cheap laughs; most unfortunately, desperation has a tendendency to bring out the very worst in people.

I use Cisco WCS to filter rogue hotspots off my network.

I can find plenty of wetspots. We have 3 grandchildren under the age of 4 and 2 large dogs.

Here in the Coachella Valley, we hit that 111 yestiddy...and right now, just before 10am, it’s 103.

growing more desperate every day...

Yes indeed. With a new "hotspot" paradigm, they can claim one day it's "HERE!", then deniers using the facts refute that, and they claim the day right after that "NO, IT'S OVER THERE!". They seem to have removed all rationality from the equation, without having the last decade or so of data behind them. They could succeed, as long as the Gorebalist politicians, and media stand behind them.

Sounds more like they are inventing a new annual rite called “Secret Season”.

Never know what your gonna get. Might be soap on a rope or something nifty like an electric tie rack...

I would love to have some hot spots here in Michigan, for quite a few years we have been unseasonably cool...we had a killing frost on june 1st twice in the last 10 years and have not had to use AC more than a few weeks all summer. But then again some people are more sensitive to heat than me.

Only 111? That’s cold for august. That area is funny, we have a plant half way between El Centro and Ocotillo, and if it gets down to 70 in the winter, the operators are suited up like they are going on a 3 week arctic snowmobiling expedition. They look at me like I am crazy in my short sleeves (whereas at home, 50 degrees is short sleeve weather in winter).

Extended minimums have brought fluctuations toward both hot and cold but mostly cold fluctuations.
